DC's Office Comedy Powerless Confirms Its First Supervillain

We already knew that DC’s new office comedy Powerless, about regular people who must endure sharing the world with the superpowered, would have at least one obscure hero in its midst: Crimson Fox
. And it seems the deep cuts won’t end there, because now that we know nth-tier villains Jack O’Lantern will appear as well.

Hipster Levels At Max: Fixie Bike w/ Walking Spider Legs

strandbeest-bike.gif

This is the Theo Jansen Strandbeest inspired bicycle built by California art and engineering collective Carv. The bike contains over 450 custom made components and took over 700 man-hours to build. For reference, that is more time and effort than I’ve put into anything besides sleeping or wishing I was sleeping. Pedaling the bike powers four walking legs in the rear. It’s not very efficient, but you will receive insane amounts of hipster street cred for showing up at the coffee shop on this thing. And isn’t that what your life is all about? Get me a large cold brew, today’s enema day.

Keep going for a handful of shots (including a couple of a chick who can’t wait to get to Burning Man) and the whole video.

Young Gorilla Repeatly Tries Chest Pounding, Fails

young-gorilla-chest-pounding-fail.jpg

This is a video of a young gorilla who repeatedly knocks himself over trying to pound his chest. That must have been quite the pounding! Or he’s completely uncoordinated. I hate it when I try to show off and wind up embarrassing myself. That’s every time, by the way. Now I’m not saying this little guy will never be the dominant male of his gorilla tribe, but I am saying gorilla tribes need betas too to sit around and watch the alphas have sex with all the females. Try not to stare.

Keep going for the video but if you only have five seconds skip to 0:40 for the best one.

Game of Thrones and Xbox Just Had an Ugly Baby

The French always gotta be one upping America. We declare independence and throw tea in a harbor as a middle finger to the king. They revolt and decapitate their king. We invent fast food. They invent chocolate croissants. We release the best season

The Psychology of Why We Make Irrational Decisions

Why is it that we often ignore hard data and go with our gut when making a decision? It’s especially true when it comes to estimating the probability of something. Are our brains just really mediocre when it comes to numbers or is there a reason for our misguided instincts?

Google Beats Children's Web Privacy Appeal

Oh, come on you guys! What’s the big deal about putting cookies on children’s computers so you can track kids under the age of 13? If the courts say it’s okay then you should be okay with it too. Besides, how are kids supposed to know what they like unless they receive targeted ads telling them what to like? Duh.

Monday’s decision is a fresh setback for computer users, after the same appeals court last November 10 said Google was not liable under federal privacy laws for bypassing cookie blockers on Apple Inc’s Safari browser and Microsoft Corp’s Internet Explorer browser.
