Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou leaves Canada on a flight to China on Friday afternoon, a source says.

She had reached a deal to end U.S. criminal charges against her.

Meng admitted she misled HSBC about Huawei’s business with Iran, in violation of sanctions.

A larger racketeering indictment is still pending against Huawei, which grinds on even as a broader rivalry between Washington and Beijing sees relations between the two powers at their lowest point in years.

Meng’s arrest sparked a diplomatic crisis and retaliatory trade measures by China, which has called her prosecution a politically motivated attack on one of its chief tech champions.

The company has pleaded not guilty to the charges against Meng and the company has said it has not been extradited to the U.N., which has not admitted to any wrongdoing.

Canada will be looking for clarity on what the decision means for two of its citizens jailed in China after Meng’s detention.

Soe Htay and Su Htet Waing are currently hiding in a make-shift tent in the jungles of Myanmar infested with mosquitos.

Months since the coup, similar cases are reported where children are detained for several days and are being beaten.

A new outbreak of COVID-19 has been linked to a primary school in Fujian province in China.

The infection may have been caused by a student’s father, who tested positive for the virus on September 10th, 38 days after returning from Singapore on August 4th.

Schools have been shut and public institutions such as theatres, museums, and libraries have been told to cease indoor activities.

The cases come ahead of a week-long National Day celebration on October 1, dubbed Golden Week, during which millions of people will travel around the country to celebrate the country’s National Day.

The current outbreak comes a month after China suppressed the largest outbreak since Wuhan in Nanjing. The outbreak is believed to be linked to the Delta variant that has been found in the city of Xiamen and Quanzhou, with 32 cases reported in the past week.

A whistleblower has filed a complaint with the Securities and Exchange Commission saying that Google didn’t update rates of comparable full-time roles in 16 countries over the last nine years.

The amount of back pay owed in more than 16 countries adds up to more than $100 million, according to the complaint.

In a statement, Google chief compliance officer Spyro Karetsos said, “It’s clear that this process has not been handled consistent with the high standards to which we hold ourselves as a company. We’re going to figure out what went wrong here, why it happened, and we’re going to make it right.”

If Google faces an inquiry or is fined, then this problem could become even more expensive. Even at those numbers, it shouldn’t slow down Google or its parent company Alphabet, which notched $18.5 billion in profit during Q2 of this year alone.

Austrian police discovered a body of 89-year-old woman who died of dementia over a year ago. 

Her son, 66, kept her body in the cellar to guard against the smell.

The man pocketed $59,000 since June 2020 from the payments, police say. The suspect would get his mum’s benefits by post every month, but a new postman recently asked to see the beneficiary, and when the son refused, he reported it to the authorities.

He is accused of benefit fraud and hiding a corpse.

An autopsy ruled out that he had killed his mother, who is believed to have suffered from dementia, in June last year.

The process should identify the problem of someone entering without a properly worn mask early, catch and respond to any escalation rapidly and in force to protect the employee and discourage the bad behavior and create a record of the event to protect against liability, ensure the perpetrator is prosecuted for any crimes, and to make sure your employees are protected against false charges as well.

As soon as someone approaches an entrance without a mask, without an approved mask, or not wearing the mask properly, security is notified and can then watch the exchange with the employee at the door.  Suppose it looks like it is beginning to escalate. In that case, security can respond in force, generally getting to the site before the problem gets out of hand, protecting the employee, de-escalating the situation, or restraining the patient until police can arrive.
