Spotify’s redesigned tvOS app brings podcast and music videos to Apple TV

Using Spotify on Apple TV might be a smoother experience going forward. Spotify has released an entirely new “experience” that integrates many of its mobile features to Apple TV, including managing your queue and viewing lyrics.

The updated Spotify for Apple TV app also includes remote control via Connect — hopefully there won’t be any future issues with changing the volume. You can also use Spotify DJ, the AI-powered guide for choosing what to listen to next.

If you’re a big video person then there’s another update for you. Apple TV will now be able to show podcast videos and let you adjust playback speed on any videos. It’s good timing as Spotify recently announced that some of its podcast videos will come to Netflix in early 2026.

The update also brings one of Spotify’s newer ventures to Apple TV: music videos. Any Premium subscribers in one of the 97 beta markets with the feature can choose “switch to video” on any song that has a music video. It works just like the tool for Podcasts.

All of these updates come with an entirely new interface that Spotify has created specifically for tvOS, redesigned Spotify for Apple TV should roll out for everyone by mid-November.

X Is Getting Rid of ‘Twitter,’ and It Might Affect Your Account

The site formerly known as Twitter has been “X” for over two years now. Nevertheless, many of us still call the site by its old, iconic name. In fact, anytime I feel the need to visit, I go to twitter.com, not x.com—even though the site always redirects to the latter. Is it muscle memory? A small protest? Probably a little of both. But my days of typing “t” in Safari’s address bar and clicking the autofilled twitter.com URL are likely coming to a close, as X seems poised to finally retire its Twitter domain for good.

That news started with a post from X’s “Safety” account on Friday. The post stated that, by Nov. 10, all accounts using a security key for two-factor authentication (2FA) should re-enroll their key to continue using X. The account says you can re-enroll an existing key, or enroll a new one, and that if you choose the latter, other security keys on your account will stop working unless you re-enroll them as well. If you don’t take action, your account will be locked after the 10th.

This change set off speculation that someone had compromised X’s authorization infrastructure, which forced X’s Safety account to make another post clarifying its reasoning for the security change. Not only was there no security concern, the issue only affected Yubikeys and passkeys, not authenticator apps or other 2FA protocols. But the lede was buried within this post: The keys are currently tied to the twitter.com domain: X plans to retire that domain, requiring users to re-enroll with the x.com domain.

This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.

If X really does go ahead and retire the domain, it truly will be the end of an era. Nothing will change with the platform itself: X will still be a site for posting your thoughts and dodging the worst of humanity. But once twitter.com stops working, it really will become X through and through. Maybe that will be enough to finally get me to quit it.

Of course, the immediate issue here is for users with security keys tied to Twitter, not X. Those users won’t be able to access their accounts after Nov. 10—unless they take some simple steps to comply with the changes.

Don’t get locked out of X

If you’d like to make sure you can continue using X once the twitter.com domain is retired, you’ll need to make sure your 2FA setup is compliant.

X’s Safety account says if you have a Yubikey or passkey that is affected, you will be prompted to automatically re-enroll with the x.com domain. However, you can also take it upon yourself to re-enroll, by heading to your X account’s 2FA settings and following the on-screen instructions. If you don’t want to re-enroll a key, you can instead choose a different 2FA method, or ditch 2FA entirely—though I strongly encourage you not to choose the last option, for the sake of your account’s security.

‘VRChat’ Officially Releases on Android & iOS, Making Way for Next Big User Surge

VR’s biggest social VR platform, VRChat, has finally come out of beta on iOS and Android.

The News

VRChat has officially launched its app on both Android and iOS following a lengthy testing period.

The app’s alpha launch on Android was released in August 2023, but only admitted VRChat Plus subscribers. Then, In August 2025, the studio launched an open beta on Android. Similarly, a closed beta for iOS was announced in May 2024, which was available to a limited number of invited users.

Now, the studio has pushed both Android and iOS versions out of beta, letting anyone download and play on most modern mobile devices. You can find it on Google Play and Apple App Store.

For Android users, VRChat supports Android 10 or higher. Devices require more than 6GB of RAM in order to install.

Apple devices must support iOS 17 or higher. Devices with less than 6GB of RAM can technically install, however they are limited to the Companion app, which lets you keep up with your VRChat friends, but not launch into worlds.

My Take

VRChat has hosted non-VR users on PC since its first public builds launched in 2014. It wasn’t until late 2017, which you may remember came with a host of memes like ‘Ugandan Knuckles’, that VRChat became somewhat of a household name. At the time, peak usership was around 20,000 players, which undoubtedly included a glut of non-VR users.

And while you might think the virality of VRChat has worn off, and that its mobile release is a bit late to the party, in reality more people are using the platform than ever before.

According to SteamDB charts, VRChat hosted over 54,000 users in the last 24 hours, dipping from its all-time peak in January at nearly 67,000 users. Notably, that doesn’t account for players on Quest or Pico, just the PC platform.

That said, I’d be interested to see if VRChat eventually releases a version for the new Samsung Galaxy XR, which is the first to run Android XR, although I’d expect we’ll be waiting for a while.

Right now, I’d guess there are probably only a few thousand people with the $1,800 headset in-hand, which admittedly comes with cool social VR stuff, like hand, face and eye-tracking. Still, it likely won’t be until an actually affordable AndroidXR headset comes to market for that to happen. The platform doesn’t support Apple Vision Pro either, and which I think is probably for good reason.

The studio is likely prioritizing platforms where it can earn the most cash; right now, VRChat makes money through active user subscriptions and percentage rakes on in-game item sales, making its full launch on mobile much more important to its bottom line than platforms with relatively few users.

Samsung's Trifold Galaxy Phone Launch May Leave US Out Of The Fold
The global fanfare for Samsung’s most audacious mobile project yet, the (tentatively named) Galaxy Z TriFold, is reportedly set to bypass the U.S. market (not to mention most other parts of the world, too). Reports from reputable leakers suggest that the triple-folding device will be restricted to a small number of regions, such as South Korea

Electronic Arts’ AI Tools Are Creating More Work Than They Save

Electronic Arts has spent the past year pushing its nearly 15,000 employees to use AI for everything from code generation to scripting difficult conversations about pay. Employees in some areas must complete multiple AI training courses and use tools like the company’s in-house chatbot ReefGPT daily.

The tools produce flawed code and hallucinations that employees then spend time correcting. Staff say the AI creates more work rather than less, according to Business Insider. They fix mistakes while simultaneously training the programs on their own work. Creative employees fear the technology will eventually eliminate demand for character artists and level designers. One recently laid-off senior quality-assurance designer says AI performed a key part of his job — reviewing and summarizing feedback from hundreds of play testers. He suspects this contributed to his termination when about 100 colleagues were let go this past spring from the company’s Respawn Entertainment studio.

Dungeons Of Eternity Gets Halloween Update With New Cosmetics, Map Changes & More

Dungeons of Eternity’s annual Halloween event kicks off with new weapons, cosmetics, and more on Quest and Steam.

Joining the slew of VR games with new Halloween content this year, Othergate is next up with Dungeons of Eternity. Called the Stormgrave Update, the co-op RPG has expanded its fantasy world to feature seasonally appropriate weapons and spooky cosmetics, as well as new weather effects to outdoor dungeon chambers, and it’s out now on both platforms.

These new cosmetics can be bought with in-game gold through the Merchant, and include a mix of horror-themed classics like a carved pumpkin head, devil horns, and a plague doctor mask, among others. Those who missed out on last year’s event can nab Dungeons of Eternity’s previous offerings here, too.

Where weapons are concerned, avid adventurers can purchase sickles and pumpkin cluster bombs from the vendors. Othergate explained in the update notes that these weapons might not be available all the time, so you’ll need to check back periodically if those go missing.

Beyond specific items, all the outdoor dungeon chambers in the Underworld Realm are now appropriately stormy, featuring lightning strikes and rainy weather. This change is currently available for a limited time, with plans to make it a permanent option in the future.

Dungeons of Eternity – Stormgrave Update is available now on Quest and Steam. You can check out the full update notes here.

AI-generated receipts make submitting fake expenses easier

Businesses are increasingly being deceived by employees using artificial intelligence for an age-old scam: faking expense receipts.

The launch of new image-generation models by top AI groups such as OpenAI and Google in recent months has sparked an influx of AI-generated receipts submitted internally within companies, according to leading expense software platforms.

Software provider AppZen said fake AI receipts accounted for about 14 percent of fraudulent documents submitted in September, compared with none last year. Fintech group Ramp said its new software flagged more than $1 million in fraudulent invoices within 90 days.
