Someone On Tinder Made A Game About What It’s Like To Date Them

There is a bottomless dress-up box filled with things that people look for in a partner. You might prefer someone who is funny or empathetic, I consider myself lucky to have ended up with someone who never had an AJR phase. And I’m sure, out there somewhere, there is a person who wouldn’t want to date anyone who…

Uber Eats now shows users which of their personal details couriers can see

The next time you order something from Uber Eats, you’ll be able to find out what personal information of yours a courier can see at each stage of the delivery process. The View as Delivery Person feature follows a View as Driver function Uber added in 2020. Starting today, Uber Eats users in the US and Canada can access the information from the recent order page and in the app’s privacy center (under the privacy menu on the account tab).

The delivery person will only know an approximate delivery location until they collect the order. Then they’ll typically have access to your first name, initial of your last name and exact delivery location. Uber will provide them with your delivery instructions and notes too. After the order is completed, the courier will once again only see a general delivery location in their app.

Moreover, the feature will tell you what kinds of details couriers can’t see, such as your phone number, payment details or driver rating. If you order products like alcohol or weed through Uber Eats, you need to prove you’re of legal age by sharing a picture of your ID. Couriers can’t see your ID details after they make the delivery, Uber says.

The idea is to provide users with more peace of mind and transparency, as Zach Singleton, Uber’s head of privacy and equity product, told The Verge. View as Driver was a popular privacy feature among users, according to Singleton, who noted that Uber receives thousands of support tickets from users who are concerned about how much personal information their driver or courier gets, as well as those eager to know more.

Safety is a critical concern for many Uber and Uber Eats users. Singleton added that women are “53 percent more likely to have a concern about the information that delivery people had when something uncomfortable has occurred.”

FTX's 'More Than 1 Million Creditors' Include Netflix, DoorDash, and Airbnb

The ongoing Chapter 11 bankruptcy of FTX is still trying to claw back the billions of dollars needed to make customers and investors whole. One problem with this lofty goal is the nearly 10 million FTX customers who still had funds on the exchange before its collapse are apparently being lumped in with FTX employees’…

Get your first look at the OnePlus Pad, OnePlus’ first tablet

OnePlus is scheduled to launch the OnePlus 11 smartphone internationally on February 7, but it looks like a big surprise is coming along with that event: OnePlus’ first tablet. On the event teaser page for the US, a new banner image features the upcoming phone and earbuds sitting on a big tablet. On the event’s Indian page, there’s even a new tab for the “OnePlus Pad” and an extra picture.

In the official pictures, we can see a big round camera bump, which looks just like the one on the OnePlus 11. If you zoom in, you can see there’s a single camera lens and an LED flash, but cameras aren’t that important on tablets. It’s also very green. The other picture shows the sides of the tablet, which appear to be flat aluminum. There’s even a big, flat oval on the side of the tablet, which usually signifies a side fingerprint sensor.

We have more than OnePlus’ teaser images to look at, though. Just before OnePlus posted the official teaser, OnLeaks (aka Steve Hemmerstoffer) and MySmartPrice released renders, and while OnLeaks has a great track record, we don’t even have to guess here—these images have already been proven accurate by OnePlus’ teaser. The accompanying report says to expect an 11.6-inch display and a metal unibody chassis.

OnePlus teases its first tablet ahead of next month’s official reveal

A OnePlus tablet is on the way. A new official image of the upcoming OnePlus Pad surfaced, showing a “Halo Green” color and an unconventional camera placement. The tablet will reportedly launch alongside the OnePlus 11 5G and Buds Pro 2 at a February 7th event.

The lone image, posted on OnePlus’ official India website, reveals a green finish with a centered rear camera. It’s reportedly an aluminum alloy body with a cambered (gently sloped like older iPads) frame. In some impressively flowery marketing copy, OnePlus toldTechRadar the green hue “blends the vibrancy of life with the vastness of space.” Unfortunately, we don’t yet know about other color options, full specs or pricing.

You can better see the tablet’s narrow bezels and centered front camera after adjusting the image’s levels:

This year may be a renaissance for Android tablets. In addition to OnePlus’ upcoming slate, Google teased its Pixel Tablet at two 2022 events. The device, arriving sometime this year, will attach to a speaker base while running the Tensor G2 chip from its latest flagship phones. It will follow the ill-fated Pixel Slate, which Google discontinued in 2020 after only two years. The consumer tablet market is dominated by Apple’s iPad, with Samsung and Amazon offering the most popular Android-running alternatives.

University of Texas Will Offer Large-Scale Online Master's Degree in AI

The University of Texas at Austin, one of the nation’s leading computer science schools, said on Thursday that it was starting a large-scale, low-cost online Master of Science degree program in artificial intelligence. From a report: The first of its kind among elite computing schools, the new program could help swiftly expand the A.I. work force in the United States as tech giants like Microsoft rush to invest billions in the field.

The university announced the initiative amid a clamor over new technology powered by artificial intelligence that can generate humanlike art and texts. And while some of the technology industry’s biggest companies are laying off workers after years of rapid growth, hiring in A.I. is expected to stay strong. University officials said they planned to train thousands of graduate students in sought-after skills like machine learning, for a tuition of about $10,000, starting in the spring of 2024. School officials said the cost was intended to make A.I. education more affordable. By contrast, Johns Hopkins University offers an online M.S. degree in artificial intelligence for more than $45,000.
