Mondraker’s new eMTB has the world’s most important ebike motor and a dream build – for less money thank you’d think

Mondraker’s new Zendit is a full-power eMTB with 165mm of travel, a carbon frame and a DJI Avinox motor.

The bike hits several important selling points, with impressive spec and value for money on all three models in the range.

The base-spec Zendit RR has Fox Factory suspension and AXS electronic shifting for £7,399. Both the middle-spec RRS (£9,299) and top-spec XR (£10,999) include a Fox Podium upside-down fork, which itself retails for £2,200.

For comparison, Forbidden’s shorter-travel Druid E, with an Avinox motor, begins at £7,599 with a more basic fork and mechanical transmission.

Desirable Avinox motor

All three Zendit models use the same Avinox motor and 800Wh battery. Mondraker

Each of the three models uses the same DJI Avinox motor. It’s paired with a non-removable 800Wh battery and there is no option for a range extender.

When Avinox released its motor in 2024, it ruffled a few feathers, offering more power than its competitors and smooth operation thanks to the 22-point pickup on the sensor ring.

It created serious demand among consumers. In Alex Evans’ head-to-head motor test, when pitted against the Bosch Performance CX Line Race motor, it showed its huge power but also high resistance through the cranks when the battery was finally out of juice.

Mid-travel enduro eMTB

Mondraker’s Zendit eMTB has 165mm of travel and a 170mm-travel fork. Mondraker

The 165mm-travel Zendit fits into Mondraker’s range between the Crafty, which has 150mm travel, and the Level with 170mm. The Zendit comes with a 170mm-travel fork (the Level has a 180mm fork).

The Zendit uses the most modern iteration of Mondraker’s patented Zero suspension system, which sees the shock canted forward at a more horizontal angle that Mondraker says improves the suspension’s small-bump response.

The carbon frame is designed to be as light as possible, with Mondraker claiming it’s the lightest eMTB frame it has made – weighing in at 3,000g in the medium size (without motor and battery).

Mixed wheel-size setup but 29in-compatible

The Zendit has a flip chip to swap between the supplied 27.5in rear wheel and a 29in rear wheel. Mondraker

All Zendit models will ship to customers with a mixed wheel-size setup (29in front and 27.5in rear), but they include a flip chip on the shock link to mutate the bike into a full 29er.

Mondraker tells us the bottom-bracket height, angles and reach remain unchanged when using the flip chip and the larger rear wheel.

Geometry and sizing

There are five frame sizes on offer and 5mm longer chainstays on the two largest sizes. Mondraker

There are five sizes on offer: S, M, M/L, L and XL.

Interestingly, the Zendit features proportionally sized chainstay measurement, which is longer on the larger sizes. Manufacturers do this in attempt to keep the geometry proportional and the bike feeling the same regardless of size.

The Large and XL sizes feature a 5mm longer 455mm chainstay measurement than the Small and Medium bikes.

The Zendit is long, with a reach of 480mm on the M/L size, 500mm on the large and 520mm on the XL.

There is a two-position flip chip on the lower shock mount, which changes the head angle from 63.5 degrees to 63.15 degrees and the BB height from 345mm to 340mm.

Build options

The Zendit RRS is the mid-spec model, but still includes a Fox Podium Factory fork and SRAM Eagle AXS transmission. Mondraker

There are three different models of Zendit on offer, each with their own colour, but each bike is also available in Black if you prefer a more stealthy option.

The top-spec Zendit XR has a Fox Podium Factory fork, Factory Float X2 shock, e*thirteen Helix Race Carbon cranks, RockShox Reverb AXS dropper, SRAM Maven Ultimate brakes and DT Swiss carbon wheels. The Zendit XR colour is a Blue Fade.

The mid-spec Zendit RRS comes in Green. It also includes a Fox Podium Factory fork, along with Fox Factory Float X shock, SRAM Maven Silver brakes, DT Swiss wheels, Maxxis Assegai and Minion 3C tyres, and a SRAM X0 Eagle AXS Transmission derailleur.

The most affordable Zendit is the RR, which looks like an excellent value proposition with a Fox Factory 38 fork and Factory Float X shock at the rear, along with SRAM Maven Base brakes, DT Swiss wheels, Maxxis Assegai and Minion 3C tyres, and SRAM GX Eagle AXS Transmission gearing.

The RR comes in Saturn (a sandy or champagne brown) or Black.

All the models have tiny 155mm cranks.

New Mondraker Zendit pricing

Each model is available in its own colourway or black. Mondraker
  • Mondraker Zendit RR: £7,399 | $10,699 USD | €8,499 – Saturn or Black
  • Mondraker Zendit RRS: £9,299 | $12,999 USD | €10,499 – Green or Black
  • Mondraker Zendit XR: £10,999 | $15,499 USD | €12,499 – Blue or Black

The Corvette E-Ray is dead, long live the Grand Sport X

Chevrolet has developed something of a modern tradition with recent generations of the Corvette: As a new generation approaches, the company rolls out the Grand Sport. It’s intended to be a sort of “sweet spot” version of the ’Vette, pairing the go-fast bits of the higher-spec machines with the entry-level motor found in the Stingray.

If that pattern holds, the mid-engined, eighth-generation Corvette may be nearing the end—because this is the new Grand Sport. This one, though, is different. It comes with an all-new V8 at its heart, one with substantially more power and torque than the current base Stingray. If that’s not enough, you can also get it with the ZR1X’s electric motor and battery. That model is called the Grand Sport X, and it’s the effective replacement for the first all-wheel-drive hybrid Corvette.

Yes, the E-Ray is dead, three years after Chevrolet raised eyebrows by putting a hybrid system where many said it didn’t belong. But you can’t argue with that system’s all-weather capability. It lives on in the new Grand Sport X, which pairs a 186-horsepower (139 kW) electric motor on the front axle with a new V8 at the rear.

The forge is our new home (Fedora Community Blog)

Tomáš Hrčka has announced
that the Forgejo-based Fedora Forge is now a
fully operational collaborative-development platform; it is ready for
use by the larger Fedora community, which means the homegrown Pagure platform’s days are numbered:

While pagure.io has been a vital part of our community for many
years, the time has come to retire our homegrown forge and transition
to this powerful new tool.

The final cutover is planned for Flock to Fedora 2026. We strongly
encourage teams to migrate their projects well before the conference
to ensure a smooth transition. The pagure.io migration is only the
first step in a broader infrastructure modernization effort. By the
2027 Fedora 46 release, we plan to retire all remaining Pagure
instances across the project, including the package source
repositories on src.fedoraproject.org. Getting familiar with Fedora
Forge now will help ensure your team is ready as the rest of the
Fedora ecosystem transitions.

There is a migration

Grab AMD's Ryzen 9 7900X CPU For Pennies On The Dollar Before It Sells Out
Sometimes it makes sense to look at an older generation processor to build a PC around, particularly if you’re looking to maximize your budget. We bring this up because AMD’s Ryzen 9 7900X based on Zen 4 is selling for an all-time low price, making it a killer bargain right now. And being a socket AM5 chip, there’s an upgrade path to AMD’s

[$] Vibe-coded ext4 for OpenBSD

A number of projects have been struggling with the question of which
submissions created by large language models (LLMs), if any, should be
accepted into their code base. This discussion has been further muddied by
efforts to use LLM-driven reimplemention as a way to remove copyleft

this context, an attempt to introduce an LLM-generated implementation of
the Linux ext4 filesystem into OpenBSD was always going to create some

10 Hacks Every ChatGPT User Should Know

If you’re a regular ChatGPT user, then you’re one of a crowd that’s now around 900 million people strong. It seems that plenty of us are spending significant amounts of time with the AI chatbot, whether that’s to get more done, search the web, work on creative or coding projects, or just have something to talk to. Are you making the most out of ChatGPT though? The web, mobile, and desktop apps come with a selection of settings and some prompt adjustment possibilities that you may not have fully explored yet. Here’s how to level up.

Use ‘branch conversations’ to explore tangents off your chats

OpenAI often rolls out minor but useful upgrades to ChatGPT that can get missed, and one of those is branch conversations. They quite literally let you branch off from one conversation and start another, while leaving the original chat preserved so you can go back to it if you need to (and maybe start another branch). It’s a simple way to go off on a tangent with a discussion. Click or tap the three dots at the end of any ChatGPT response and you’ll see the Branch in new chat option. A new chat is then created, based on the first.

Trick ChatGPT into returning shorter, more effective results

ChatGPT hacks
You can specify what kind of target audience you are to ChatGPT.
Credit: Lifehacker

The internet is awash with ChatGPT prompt “hacks” of varying quality and effectiveness, and they all really boil down to the specificity of the instructions you’re giving the AI. From the length of the responses to the data format they’re outputted in, tell ChatGPT what you want in precise terms, and it will oblige.

One of the best of these prompt hacks I’ve seen lately is from u/AdCold1610 on Reddit, and all you have to do is put “extremely lazy person here” somewhere in the prompt. It often has quite a profound effect on the response: Answers get shorter and to the point, and if there are instructions involved they become simpler and more straightforward. You get less fluff and more action in general, though obviously how much impact the lazy prompt has will vary on what you’re asking of the AI.

Use Voice Mode to record memos or thoughts

You may well have seen the little sound wave icon down in the bottom right corner of the ChatGPT prompt box and given Voice Mode a try, without really knowing how to make use of it or why it works better than typing in your prompts. One potentially helpful idea, though, is to use it as a voice memo recorder for stuff you need to get done; another is to use it as an audio-based personal journal for thoughts and reflections. You can keep them all together in one chat, or spread them out.

There’s no shortage of mobile apps that will record audio clips for you, but they don’t come with ChatGPT’s AI analysis brain attached. Once you’ve built up a library of recordings, you can get it to prioritize your to do list, remind you about something you’ve forgotten, summarize the main themes of your reflections, sum up your mood changes over the week, or whatever else you can think of.

Use “Personalization” to tailor ChatGPT’s answers towards your interests

ChatGPT hacks
Delve into the Personalization settings.

You can tailor the answers ChatGPT gives you by telling it more about yourself: what you know about a certain topic, how you best absorb information, how verbose or succinct you’d like the AI’s responses to be, and so on. But entering these details for each and every prompt can get tiresome quickly.

There’s actually a place to put details like this in ChatGPT’s settings, as long as you open the panel on the web or desktop: Click your account profile avatar (bottom left), then choose Personalization. The next screen not only lets you set some guidelines for the personality ChatGPT should use by default, it also lets you tell the AI a bit about yourself—which it will keep permanently in its memory. You can add details including your occupation, your ethical values, your preferred learning style, and your main interests.

Use Photoshop to edit photos within ChatGPT for free

ChatGPT comes with mini-apps you can connect to via the prompt box, and one of those apps happens to be Photoshop—meaning you can carry out some pretty advanced edits using Adobe’s software technology, free of charge.

The plug-in is currently available in all the ChatGPT apps except Android and Windows. Pick Apps from the navigation pane, then search for “Photoshop” and click Connect to add it to your ChatGPT tools. You can then call it into action via the + (plus) button in the prompt box, or by typing “@” in your prompt followed by the app name.

With Photoshop enabled, you can perform all kinds of edits: blur backgrounds, remove objects, and tweak brightness and contrast, for example. Just use the same natural language as you would in any ChatGPT conversation. You do need to upload an image to edit, or provide a public web link to one. If you don’t do this before you submit your prompt, you’ll be asked to do it after.

Use your phone camera for live help

ChatGPT hacks
Don’t neglect the Camera option on mobile.

ChatGPT for Android and iOS comes with a superpower: access to your phone’s camera, so you can feed it photos in real time as you explore the world and go about the business of daily life. Just tap the + (plus) button by the prompt box, then Camera.

Even if you’ve realized the feature is there, you might not have realized how much you can do with it. It’ll translate signs in a foreign language for you, identify movies and TV shows from images posted to social media, pick out the route you need to take from a picture of a timetable or transit map, and explain what’s in a particular dish on a menu.

Ask ChatGPT for questions rather than answers

Back to a bit of prompt hacking: Another trick that I’ve used a lot recently was taken from Reviewracoon on Medium. It’s a debugging prompt, which means you don’t ask for answers; instead, you ask ChatGPT for questions that are going to help you get to the answers yourself.

This works best when reviewing your own writing, code, or ideas. For a draft of a short story, for example, you might say: “Don’t tell me what’s wrong and how to fix it. Instead, act like a detective, asking questions that will help me figure out how to improve it.” What you’ll get back will encourage you to review the thinking around your own process, what you’re trying to achieve, and why you’ve taken the approaches you have.

Use temporary chats to run ChatGPT in incognito mode

ChatGPT hacks
Launch temporary chats on mobile or desktop.
Credit: Lifehacker

Another feature you might not have come across is the very handy temporary chat tool, which works like an incognito mode for ChatGPT. Nothing in this chat will be saved—it’ll be instantly forgotten as soon as you close it. To start a temporary chat, open up a new chat and then click or tap the dashed speech bubble up in the top right corner.

Reduce your messaging limits to block ads in ChatGPT Free

If you’re on the Free or Go tiers of ChatGPT, you’re going to see ads by default to help pay OpenAI’s data center bills, but there is a way to remove them: You just have to put up with lower usage limits in return.

Get to your profile page by clicking or tapping on your username, then select Ads controls > Change plan to go ad-free > Reduce message limits to make the change. (You can reverse it any time you like.) OpenAI doesn’t actually specify how restrictive this will be in terms of a daily message allowance, but it’s an option you can try out. The other ways to remove ads are to switch to a Plus, Pro, Business, or Enterprise account (starting from $20 per month), or to register for an Education account. These subscriptions come with other benefits too, including access to smarter models.

Use ‘Study and learn’ mode to pick up new skills and concepts

ChatGPT hacks
Study and learn mode will feed you knowledge and then test you on it.
Credit: Lifehacker

You can employ ChatGPT as a learning tool in all kinds of ways, but there is a specific Study and learn mode built right in. OpenAI describes it as “a learning experience that helps you work through problems step by step instead of just getting an answer”.

To enable it, tap or click the + (plus) button on the prompt box, then choose Study and learn (it might be behind a More menu). Specify the topic you want to learn, and submit the prompt to get started with your tutoring session. ChatGPT may ask you some clarification questions so the bot can narrow down its teaching material.

What you’ll get next is a blend of information and questions to test your knowledge: ChatGPT will mark your answers as you go, then adapt the learning experience to meet you where you currently are.

Some of My Favorite Milwaukee Tools Come With a Free Battery Right Now

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

One of the most expensive parts of a personal tool kit is the batteries, especially if you want to use multiple tools simultaneously without having to swap the battery each time you change tools. Moving seamlessly between drilling pilot holes and driving screws can save you time on your DIY projects, but the cost of extra batteries can add up. These deals from Home Depot are a good way to save more than 50% on a battery and tool combo if you want to expand your Milwaukee set.

Battery combo

If you use bigger Milwaukee 18-volt tools like a circular saw, or use a Milwaukee inverter in your emergency kit for temporary emergency power, a few extra six-amp-hour batteries are helpful to have around, but the higher capacity batteries can be expensive. The two-pack of 18-volt Milwaukee six-amp-hour batteries is on sale for $299, 32% off its regular price. When you open the link to the two-pack, you’ll see a “free gift with purchase” menu to the right, and you can select a third six-amp-hour battery from this menu. Once you add the battery, the discount is applied in your cart for a total savings of 53% off.

Tool combos

I use my Milwaukee 18-volt random orbital sander daily when I’m working on furniture and other projects. Having a cordless sander is more convenient because you don’t have to drag the cord around when you’re working on delicate projects and you can bring it with you wherever you want to work, making it perfect for outdoor woodworking as well. The Milwaukee 18-volt random orbital sander is on sale for $229 and it comes with a free six-amp-hour 18-volt battery when you select it in the “free gift with purchase” menu, saving you about 46% on the bundle. On this bundle, as with the other two tool bundles, you’ll need an 18-volt Milwaukee charger to use the battery.

My Milwaukee oscillating multitool has saved many of my household projects because of its versatility. I used mine when I needed to replace the drain in my 115-year-old Craftsman’s bathroom sink to cut through the plaster and lathe, to cut some PVC components, to trim the drain pipe where it came out from the wall, to trim a patch I installed, and to sand over some places after I patched the wall. The 18-volt Milwaukee oscillating multitool is $249, and right now, it comes with a free 18-volt, six-amp-hour battery when you select it in the “free gift with purchase” menu, saving you around 44% on the set.

I use my 6 ½” Milwaukee circular saw frequently to make quick rip cuts or in places I can’t use a table saw. Battery technology has come a long way since I first started using a cordless circular saw and I had to change out my battery every 20 minutes or so. With larger capacity batteries, you can use your cordless circular saw for several hours before needing to replace the battery, depending on the thickness and density of the material you’re cutting. The Milwaukee 18-volt, 6 ½” cordless circular saw is $229, and it comes with a free six-amp-hour battery when you select it in the “free gift with purchase” menu, saving you about 46% on the combo.

2026’s historic snow drought is bad news for the West

Across much of the Western United States, winter 2026 was the year the snow never came. Many ski resorts got by with snowmaking but shut down their winter operations early. Fire officials and water supply managers are worried about summer.

Where I live in Boise, Idaho, temperatures hit the low 80s Fahrenheit (high-20s Celsius) in mid-March. The same heat dome sent temperatures soaring to 105° F (40° C) in Phoenix.

Ordinarily, water managers and hydrologists like me who study the Western US expect the mountain snowpacks to be at their fullest around April 1. Snowpacks are natural reservoirs of water that farms and communities depend on through the hot, dry summer. Their snow water equivalent, meaning the amount of liquid water in the snowpack, is seen as a bellwether for water supplies.

How to use Apple’s Playlist Playground to make AI-generated mixes

With the release of iOS 26.4, Apple Music’s Playlist Playground can now generate playlists with the help of AI. Best of all, you don’t need an Apple Intelligence-capable iPhone to take advantage of the new feature. As long as you’re a US Apple Music subscriber with your language set to English, you can start using Playlist Playground right now. Here’s how to get started.

How to create playlists using Playlist Playground

A pair of screenshots showing off Apple Music's new Playlist Playground feature.
A pair of screenshots showing off Apple Music’s new Playlist Playground feature.
Igor Bonifacic for Engadget

For the time being, there are two ways to access Playlist Playground. For the time being, the company is highlighting the feature within the “Top Picks for You” section of Apple Music’s Home tab. If you don’t see a shortcut there, Apple integrated the feature into the app’s existing playlist creation tool. Just tap the new icon found in the Library tab. If you’re new to Apple Music, the flow looks like this:

  1. Open Apple Music.

  2. Navigate to the “Library” tab.

  3. Tap the playlist creation button.

  4. Write a prompt describing the mood or style of music you want to hear.

To help people get started, Apple provides a selection of sample prompts. One pro tip: it’s possible to use metadata in conjunction with Playlist Playground. For example, after Apple Music generates a playlist, you can tell Apple’s model to edit it by removing any songs released before 2016. Of course, you’re also free to add and remove songs manually as you please.

Once you’re happy with your new playlist, Apple Music treats all Playlist Playground mixes like it does any other playlist, meaning you can save it to your Library, download for offline playback, play it from your Apple Watch and share it with friends and invite them to add songs.

FAQ

What Apple devices is Playlist Playground available on?

As of the writing of this article, Playlist Playground is a beta release only available to Apple Music subscribers in the US with their preferred language set to English. An iPhone or iPad running iOS 26.4, or an Apple Vision headset running visionOS 26.4 is also required.

As Apple releases the feature in more countries and languages, we’ll update this article.

Is Playlist Playground available on Android?

Yes, if you use Apple Music on Android, Playlist Playground is available there too.

How does Playlist Playground work?

When generating mixes, Playlist Playground pulls from both trending data and your personal listening history. Along with other AI-powered Apple Music features like AutoMix and Lyrics Translation, Playlist Playground runs as part of the Apple Music service. That’s one of the reasons Apple can offer it outside of Apple Intelligence-capable devices.

HBO Max finally launches in the UK and Ireland

It’s been a long wait, but HBO Max has finally arrived in the UK and Ireland, rounding off the streaming service’s European expansion. Oscar-winners One Battle After Another and Sinners are both available to stream at launch, alongside Max Original shows like The Pitt. Season three of Euphoria arrives in April, and HBO Max is also home to mega-franchises like The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, both of which are celebrating their 25th anniversaries in 2026.

Starting today, March 26, UK audiences can choose from three plans. Basic with Ads costs £5 per month, and offers all HBO shows and select Warner Bros. movies at 1080p, with movies that first stream on HBO Max after their theatrical release excluded. Then there’s Standard with Ads for £6 per month, which includes those straight-from-theaters releases and 30 downloads at the same resolution. Both can stream on two devices at a time.

For an ad-free experience you can purchase a Standard or Premium plan. The former has all titles available on two devices, up to 30 downloads and, obviously no ads. Finally, the most expensive £15 per month Premium plan allows streaming on four devices in up to 4K Ultra HD with Dolby Atmos. You also get 100 offline downloads on this tier.

Eligible Sky TV customers will automatically have HBO Basic with Ads rolled into their packages at no extra cost, thanks to an expanded partnership between Sky and Warner Bros. Discovery. This extends to NOW Entertainment subscribers, who will find HBO Max integrated into the NOW app. HBO Max is also now home to TNT Sports in the UK, which streams over 50 matches in the Premier League, as well as being home to the UEFA Champions League and various other sporting competitions, including MotoGP and the Tour de France.

HBO Max launches in the UK as Warner Bros Discovery sets a date for the shareholder vote on its merger with Paramount Skydance, which was finally agreed last month. Netflix was paid a $2.8 billion fee for breaking up its initial well-documented deal to buy the historic studio.

The New Echo Dot Max Is Its Lowest Price Ever for the Amazon Spring Sale

We may earn a commission from links on this page. Deal pricing and availability subject to change after time of publication.

The Echo Dot Max is Amazon’s “Pro” tier smart speaker, designed for people who want better sound quality in a relatively small package and at an affordable price. This upgraded smart speaker is powerful, with a spherical body and a concave cutout for volume and mute controls, surrounded by an LED ring (yes, it looks like the Death Star).

Released last October, the Echo Dot Max is currently at its lowest price ever during Amazon’s Big Spring Sale. You can get one for $74.99 instead of the usual $99.99.

The new Echo Dot Max is a step up from the Echo Dot, and compared to the 2022 model, it features three times louder bass (thanks to a new 0.8-inch tweeter and a 2.5-inch woofer). It’s powered by Amazon’s custom Za3 chip with a built-in AI Accelerator, meaning it’s built for the Alexa+ AI service.

The Max also features a built-in smart home hub with support for Matter, Zigbee, and Thread Border Router; it can also work as an eero extender for your mesh Wi-Fi router. There’s also a temperature sensor and ultrasonic presence detector, so you can use it to trigger Alexa routines as soon as someone walks into the room.

Tech wise, the Echo Dot Max supports Wi-Fi 6E for faster speeds, Bluetooth 5.3, lossless high-definition audio, and automatic room adaption. It’s also easy to pair two Echo Dot Max speakers for a stereo home theater setup with any compatible Fire TV devices. Echo Dot Max comes in three colors: Graphite, Glacier White, and Amethyst. All three are available on discount right now.

PCMag gave the Echo Dot Max an “Outstanding” 4.5 star rating, along with an Editor’s Choice award, noting, “the Amazon Echo Dot Max stands out as a strong successor to the fourth-generation Echo, comfortably occupying the $100 sweet spot for smart speakers.” And what’s better than a $100 sweet spot? A $75 sweet spot.

This 32-Inch Hisense TV Is Only $75 During Amazon’s Big Spring Sale

We may earn a commission from links on this page.

This Amazon Big Spring Sale deal on a TV is remarkable: A Hisense 32″ LED television for $74.99—that’s cheaper than dinner and drinks in most U.S. cities. This isn’t going to be the greatest TV of all time, but from all available accounts, its at least a solid set. It’s an older model—released in 2020—but that means there are over 3,000 reviews on Amazon, and the score is a respectable 4.1 stars out of 5. Critics generally were positive when it first came out, too.

The screen is 32″ screen, so it’s big enough to be watchable, and the picture is 720p so it’s technically “high-def,” if not “full high-def.” It even comes with built-in Alexa and FireTV.

Bottom line: I could totally see having this in a bedroom as a second TV, as an interim TV while you wait to get your real set, or a TV if you’re the kind of person who low-key hates watching TV, but you don’t want to feel totally disconnected with the larger world. And hey, if it doesn’t work out, you’re not out too much money.
