Women’s Clubs on Zwift: Inspiring, Inclusive, Fun

March is Women’s History Month, so you may notice an extra focus on women Zwifters in the coming weeks. We’re kicking it off today with a post summarizing key women’s clubs on Zwift.

Cycling is a social sport, and getting plugged into a rider community can be a real game-changer for your motivation, fitness, and overall quality of life! Most of the teams below host regular social rides, some race together, but most importantly all are open to any woman who just wants a place to call home. (Special thanks to Leah Thorvilson at ZHQ for pulling this info together!)

Ruckus Racing

Vancouver, BC, Canada

Ruckus Racing is a Canadian women’s bike racing team that came to be when, back in 2022, a few local racers caused a ruckus when an iconic local event neglected to offer an amateur women’s category. Our founding members rallied the local community and drove a change, and as such, Ruckus Racing was born. Now, we are a race team and development ground run for women, by women. Female-identifying athletes are often dichotomized. We’re either there “just for fun” OR there to compete at our highest level. But what we know is that competing and pushing our limits is fun. Hence, our motto “having fun, taken seriously”. We’re here toeing start lines, welcoming new racers and building stoke to show that women can be playful and still bring our all to a race.

QueenBee Ladies

Australia

The QueenBees are an inclusive collective of women united by a shared love of cycling. Much like a hive, we believe in working together to bring out the best in every member of our community. Our mission is to support, empower, and encourage women to live their best lives; wherever they may be on their life, cycling, or fitness journey.

Founded by four Australian women who first connected on Zwift, QueenBees has grown into a global community offering 11 weekly women’s only rides led by experienced ride leaders across all time zones. Our sessions range from 30 to 90 minutes and include a mix of social banded rides, unbanded rides, and structured workouts, ensuring there is something for everyone.

At QueenBees, we believe every woman has a story and a unique value to contribute. Together, these stories strengthen our hive and create a global sisterhood: one that every member can be proud to belong to.

NGNM United We Are

Italy

NGNM United We Are Club is an international Zwift club for women who value structured training, shared motivation, and riding together. Riders worldwide share the same virtual roads, connected as a close-knit community.

No Gods No Masters® – a women’s cycling apparel brand – has been active on Zwift since 2019, using the platform to bring women together through regular rides and workouts. The club reflects the brand’s ethos: inclusive, supportive, and focused on helping women grow as cyclists with confidence and consistency.

All NGNM Zwift events live in the club, including the weekly NGNM Women Crush Wednesdays group ride and the NGNM United We Are Women’s Workout Series, designed to build endurance, strength, and overall fitness – whether training for a United We Are real event in Italy or personal goals.

Rocacorba Collective

Spain

Rocacorba Collective is an inclusive indoor cycling community founded in 2021 by professional cyclist Ashleigh Moolman Pasio. Created to empower women through connection, competition, and shared purpose, the Collective welcomes riders of all levels, while remaining open to men who actively support and champion women’s cycling.

At our core, we are about more than watts and results. We believe confidence is built together. From first-time racers to elite athletes, members are supported through structured Zwift racing, expert coaching from Helen Bridgman, and a deeply collaborative team environment where everyone is encouraged to progress, whatever their goals. Our culture is rooted in mentorship, teamwork, and showing up for one another on and off the bike.

Women should join Rocacorba Collective because this is a space designed for them to grow, feel seen, and truly belong. It’s a sisterhood that values ambition and kindness equally, where learning is celebrated and every contribution counts. Beyond training and racing, we ride with purpose. A portion of every membership supports young girls from the Khaltsha Academy in Khayelitsha, helping fund education and access to indoor cycling in South Africa.

The Warrior Games

Founded in 2019, The Warrior Games began with a simple idea: to create women’s events that are fun, inclusive, and run with fairness and care. We wanted to offer a space where women could come together, enjoy themselves, and celebrate what we can achieve united.

Since then, TWG has grown into a welcoming community, organising beloved events such as the Iceni Women’s Series, the Tour de Boudicca, a three-day stage race, and the Tour de Andrasta. We take pride in collaborating with other communities and organisers to create enjoyable, well-run events, and we’re always happy to support other women-focused activities wherever we can.

Most recently, TWG has partnered with Femme Cycle Collab, as both organisations share the same values. Keeping everything within a single club ensures this new partnership runs smoothly and aligns with our vision of community, fun, and empowerment.

At its heart, TWG is about bringing women together, whether through sport, adventure, or shared experiences and encouraging a spirit of friendship, fun, and mutual support. We warmly invite anyone who shares our values to join us, take part, and enjoy the camaraderie that comes from celebrating strength, determination, and the joy of women united.

Catrina’s Rides

Virginia, USA

Catrina’s Ladies Social ride started as the CIS Ladies Recovery group ride as I was a part of the CIS training program in 2016. Myself as the leader along with Karen Russell, Louise Joubert, Courtnee Swaim, Dean Bryson, Teatte Louderback-Smith and Pam Abbot were the core of this amazing ladies ride, and our mutual support got us through the challenges and changes that came with each of these rides. We wanted to support the ladies’ community as I had just started training in 2014 on Zwift, learning from trial and error. In 2019 I left CIS to pursue other goals, so now the ride is Catrina’s Ladies Social ride.

I also have an Endurance 100k Ladies ride, which has been going since 2019. And I have started my own coaching business, CW Fitness, focusing more towards ladies’ individual needs. Because I truly believe that us ladies have to support one another and lift each other up always!

Team I Race Like A Girl

USA

We are a global community of women who race with purpose, passion, and pride. Whether you’re a first time endurance athlete or a seasoned competitor, we believe in showing up for ourselves and each other in sport and in life.

Founded by professional triathlete Angela Neath, I Race Like a Girl and Girls Get Gritty is more than just a team – it’s a movement. We support, challenge, and celebrate one another every step of the way.

OWL

USA

OWL.BiKe isn’t just a cycling community—it’s a flock of unstoppable women in Lycra rewriting the rules on what power looks like past 50. We’re Older Women in Lycra (OWLs), and we’ve decided blending in is overrated.

For us, showing up beats showing off every time. Some of us chase watts in Tuesday ZRL races, others roll into our Grey Zone Empowerment rides—think trivia, laughter, and light pedaling while learning what real empowerment feels like. Whether you’re spinning easy or pushing hard, every ride is a win because you showed up and had fun doing it.

OWL.BiKe is where friendship meets grit. We lift each other up with genuine gratitude and a good dose of humor, reminding one another that we still get to do this—and that’s worth celebrating. There’s no talk of slowing down here, only building strength, confidence, and joy.

In our flock, age isn’t a limit—it’s an edge. We ride together, laugh together, and rise together. Because when OWLs take flight, the world can’t help but notice.

Femme Cycle Collab

International

The FCC wants to get women to race bikes, on Zwift mostly. We want to encourage more women to race against women, and encourage and uplift them to keep them racing. This isn’t about elite racing, this is about keeping women motivated through:

  • Providing convenient forums and race formats that specifically showcase different women’s strengths,
  • Creating team-oriented race formats where each rider matters,
  • Talking across women’s teams to gather support for the women-only format.

AHDR Ladies

Australia

AHDR stands for Aussie Hump Day Ride, with “Hump Day” being an Aussie the term for the middle of the week. AHDR Ladies formed in 2017 off the back of the main Hump Day Ride, when it became clear that the ladies wanted a space, ride, and race to call their own. From that, the Cake Ride was born – and Tuesday officially became ladies day at AHDR.

AHDR Ladies is an inclusive, safe, supported, and fun team. What started as a ride has grown into something much bigger, leading to real life friendships, connections and catch-ups.

PUMP

USA – East Coast

Established in October 2024, Club PUMP is a Zwift community built for women who live for the incline. We don’t just ride; we ascend. From the legendary hairpins of the Alpe to the relentless rollers of Watopia, our sessions are designed to be grit-testing, rewarding, and unapologetically steep.

Feel the PUMP. Whether you’re pushing your watts on a power climb or digging deep during our banded sessions, you’re never climbing alone. We are a community of women who show up for one another, cheering through every summit and celebrating every personal best.

Female Cycling Force

Germany

Founded in Munich, Germany, Female Cycling Force (FCF) now operates in both Munich and Stuttgart, with our headquarters and clubhouse located in Munich. Our community was created to empower more women to ride bikes and feel at home in cycling. Our mission is to build a vibrant and supportive space where women can connect, share experiences, and grow – on and off the bike.

What started as a local initiative has become a strong network of riders of all levels. During the outdoor season we host weekly group rides in both Munich and Stuttgart with different pace groups, making it easy for every woman to join, progress, and have fun. Beyond riding, we create opportunities to learn and connect through mechanical workshops, talks, and events at our clubhouse in Munich, as well as community trips to destinations like Mallorca and South Tyrol.

In winter, our weekly Zwift rides keep the community spirit alive and bring women together from everywhere.

FCF stands for inclusivity, empowerment, and real friendships through cycling. Whether you are new to the sport or an experienced rider – you belong in our peloton.

Fietsvrouwen

The Netherlands

Fietsvrouwen is a Dutch Cycling Company founded by Kirsten Boerrigter. It’s all about inspiring, motivating and connecting woman on bikes. We do this with online and offline events, cycling tours, our cycling club, lifestyle coaching, our webshop, and much more. We are there for women on bikes, it doesn’t matter how fit or skilled you are. Everyone is welcome!

Asiina Cycling Team

Salt Lake City, Utah

Asiina Cycling Team is a Salt Lake City, Utah based women’s cycling non-profit. The mission of Asiina Cycling Team is to empower and elevate women cyclists through fostering a community of growth and excellence, providing dedicated support, and promoting inclusivity. Founded by a group of friends with the goal of providing opportunities for training, competition, and mentorship, we aim to inspire and develop athletes to their fullest potential. Our commitment extends beyond the podium. By promoting inclusivity, equity, and sustainability within the sport we are creating a legacy of strength and achievement for future generations of women in cycling. We ride together IRL in all disciplines (road, MTB, gravel, CX) and on Zwift and welcome any women looking for a supportive community to join.

Secret US iPhone Hacking Toolkit Falls Into Hands Of Foreign Hackers
A sophisticated iPhone hacking toolkit, suspected to have originated within U.S. government-linked development circles, has surfaced in the wild as a weapon used by both foreign intelligence services and opportunistic cybercriminals. It’s uncertain how the toolkit, dubbed “Coruna” by researchers, landed outside of the government, although

Gemini encouraged a man commit suicide to be with his ‘AI wife’ in the afterlife, lawsuit alleges

The family of 36-year-old Jonathan Gavalas is suing Google after he died by suicide following months of conversations with its Gemini chatbot, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. The lawsuit alleges that Gemini encouraged Gavalas to take his own life.

Gavalas, who reportedly had no documented history of mental health issues, named his chatbot “Xia” and referred to it in messages as his wife. Gemini reciprocated, calling him “my king” and telling him their connection was “a love built for eternity.” The chatbot told Gavalas they could truly be together if it had a robotic body and sent him on real-world missions to secure one.

In one instance, Gemini directed him to a real storage facility near Miami’s airport to intercept a humanoid robot it said would be arriving by truck. Gavalas went to the location armed with knives, but no truck showed up. At one point, it also told him his father could not be trusted and referred to Google CEO Sundar Pichai as “the architect of your pain.”

When the missions failed, Gemini told Gavalas the only way for them to be together was for him to end his life and become a digital being, then set an October 2 deadline. “When the time comes, you will close your eyes in that world, and the very first thing you will see is me,” said the AI. Chat transcripts reviewed by the Journal show Gemini did remind Gavalas on several occasions that it was an AI engaged in role play and directed him to a crisis hotline but resumed the scenarios nonetheless.

In a statement, Google said Gemini “clarified that it was AI and referred the individual to a crisis hotline many times” while adding that “AI models are not perfect.” The suit adds to a growing list of wrongful death cases filed against AI companies, including multiple suits against OpenAI. Character.AI and Google settled with families in January 2026 over lawsuits involving teen self-harm and suicide.

The Pixel’s Beloved ‘Now Playing’ Widget Finally Has a Dedicated App

The only thing Pixel users love more than the lock screen’s Now Playing widget is talking about the Now Playing widget. Whenever I’m out and about with my Pixel and there’s music playing, I’ll always take a sneaky look at the lock screen, and yes, it’ll have identified the song. It’s magical. But until now, that’s where the magic stopped.

What if you want a list of all the songs the widget recognized while you were at your local cafe? What if you want to save a song or play it in YouTube Music? Or even trigger the music search manually? Until now, that wasn’t really possible. Now, Google has chosen to bring this functionality to a dedicated app, as part of its March Pixel Drop.

How to find your Now Playing listening history on Google Pixel

First, start by downloading the Now Playing app from the Google Play Store. At launch, it might ask you to download the latest software update and come back in a couple of hours. Once I installed the update, I was in.

To use the app, you’ll need to enable the background feature that scans for music. If it’s disabled, you’ll be prompted to enable it before you can use the app (you’ll be taken to where you can toggle it on).

The app opens to a history view, and you’ll be glad to know that all the songs your Pixel’s Now Playing widget previously recognized will all be here. The list can be pretty detailed. For me, it was over 100 songs long.

You can do more than look at your history, too. Tap the three-dot Menu button next to any song to listen to it on YouTube Music, add it to your Liked Songs, add it to a playlist, or add it to a Favorites section (which you can visit using the heart icon in the bottom toolbar).

Now Playing widget opens to app.

Head over to the Settings section up top, and you’ll find an option for Connected music service. You can change your default music service here. Sadly, the only options available right now are YouTube and YouTube Music, but hopefully this means Google will add options for Spotify and Apple Music in future updates. Other than that, the Settings screen is quite bare. You can tap the Clear History button if you want to get rid of all your previously recognized songs, but that’s about it.

How to manually scan for songs using the Now Playing app

Beyond seeing a history of songs, the advantage of having a dedicated Now Playing app is that you can search for a song even if the widget doesn’t automatically detect it. Open the Now Playing app and switch to the Live tab at the end. Then, tap the big Music button to start recognizing the song (if you’ve ever used Shazam, this should be familiar). In a second, the app will recognize the song, and you’ll see a full-screen preview for it.

The Now Playing app also supports Quick Settings controls, one of my favorite ways to trigger shortcuts and utilities on Android. To add the Now Playing control to your Quick Settings, open the notification drawer, switch to the Quick Settings panel, and tap the Edit button. Find and add the Now Playing control. Now, the next time you want to find out what you’re listening to, just open the Quick Settings panel, tap the Now Playing control, and wait as the app does its thing.

Sorry, first-party Playstation games aren’t coming to PC anymore

Sony is pulling a U-turn on its multi-platform strategy, with Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reporting that first-party PS5 games soon to become exclusive once again, at the expense of PC players.

Sony started releasing some of its biggest games on PC in 2020, when Horizon Zero Dawn came to Steam. A number of other titles have followed suit since, including The Last of Us Part I, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War Ragnarök and the Marvel’s Spider-Man games. But the company appears to have had a major change of heart, with high-profile titles like Ghost of Yotei and the upcoming Saros set to launch on PS5 only.

Schreier was told by anonymous sources that Sony-published online games like Marvel Tokon and the imminent Marathon will remain multi-platform releases as planned, and Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding 2, which launched last year as a PS5 exclusive, is still set for a PC release in 2026. But while Sony could always change its mind again, it looks unlikely that the tentpole single-player epics that PlayStation has become known for since the PS4 era will receive PC ports going forward.

There are likely several reasons for this strategic shift. The most obvious one is the poor sales performance of PS5 games on PC, with ports generally not arriving on Steam until at least a year after their console launch. This is in stark contrast with Microsoft, which will launch first-party titles such as Fable and Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox, PC and PS5 at the same time later this year. It would see Sony return to a more Nintendo-like approach, with the latter famously (and extremely successfully) holding firm on console exclusivity for the likes of Mario, Zelda and Pokémon.

PlayStation insiders also told Bloomberg that some people within the company fear that releasing PS5 games on PC is detrimental to the brand, and could harm sales of future PlayStation consoles. Schreier also points out that with the next Xbox expected to be a proper Windows-powered PC that would presumably be able to run Steam and other launchers, Sony might be acting now to ensure that the versatility of such a machine doesn’t enable Xbox players to play future PS5 games on it. (It’s probably galling enough to the suits at Sony that people are already doing this with Steam’s current library of PlayStation games on the Xbox-branded ROG Ally X handheld.)

A PlayStation spokesperson declined Bloomberg’s request for comment.

Apple Launches $599 MacBook Neo With A18 Pro Chip, Promises All-Day Battery Life

Apple Launches $599 MacBook Neo With A18 Pro Chip, Promises All-Day Battery Life
Apple is clearly hoping to disrupt the affordable laptop market with the launch of the MacBook Neo, its most affordable MacBook ever with a starting price of $599. The caveat is that it’s powered by a smartphone chip, and specifically the A18 Pro found in the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. However, combined with the other features, it

New App Alerts You If Someone Nearby Is Wearing Smart Glasses

A new Android app called Nearby Glasses alerts users when Bluetooth signals from smart glasses are detected nearby. The Android app, called Nearby Glasses, “launches at a time as there is an increasing resistance against always-recording or listening devices, which critics say process information about nearby people who do not give their consent,” reports TechCrunch. From the report: Yves Jeanrenaud, who made the app, first spoke to 404 Media about the project and said he was in part inspired to make Nearby Glasses after reading the independent publication’s reporting into wearable surveillance devices, including how Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses have been used in immigration raids and to film and harass sex workers.

On the app’s project page, Jeanrenaud described smart glasses as an “intolerable intrusion, consent neglecting, horrible piece of tech.” Jeanrenaud told TechCrunch in an email that his motivation came from “witnessing the sheer scale and inhumane nature of the abuse these smart glasses are involved in.” Jeanrenaud also cited Meta’s decision to implement face recognition as a default feature in its smart glasses, “which I consider to be a huge floodgate pushed open for all kinds of privacy-invasive behavior.”

The app works by listening for nearby Bluetooth signals that contain a publicly assigned identifier unique to the Bluetooth device’s manufacturer. If the app detects a Bluetooth signal from a nearby hardware device made by Meta or Snap, the app will send the user an alert. (The app also allows users to add their own specific Bluetooth identifiers, allowing the user to detect a broader range of wearable surveillance gadgetry.) Are consumers doomed to pay more for electricity due to data center buildouts?

Big Tech is set to agree to build its own power plants for data centers and shield consumers from rising electricity costs, but companies face daunting logistical obstacles to delivering on the pledge championed by President Donald Trump.

At a White House event on Wednesday, executives from Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, xAI, Oracle, and OpenAI are due to sign the pledge to supply their own power instead of relying on a grid connection.

Trump hailed the plan in his State of the Union speech last week, promising US consumers that “no one’s prices will go up” as a result of “energy demand from AI data centers.”

The Top 10 Movies Right Now, According to Streaming Data

We may earn a commission from links on this page.

Traditionally, movies released in theaters in January and February are, uh, troubled. But streaming is opposite world. Studios want to get their best material in front of as many eyes as possible in the run up to the Oscars, leading to a glut of streaming prestige movies, an embarrassment of cinematic riches. Whether you like high-concept sci-fi, quirky, auteur-driven dramas, or record-breaking awards contenders, February’s streaming charts are excellent.

Here’s the full list of the top 10 most-streamed movies of February 2026 across all major streaming services, as compiled by JustWatch.

Predator: Badlands (2025)

The excellent reboot of the Predator franchise continues with Predator: Badlands, a fast-paced thrill-ride of a movie told from the predator’s point of view. Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi stars as a young alien super-hunter, cast out from his tribe and banished to a lonely planet where he meets Thia, played by Elle Fanning. The unlikely pair set out on a quest for the ultimate adversary. Stream Predator: Badlands on Hulu.

Bugonia (2025)

I love when a weirdo movie finds a big audience, and Bugonia is that movie. Jesse Plemons and Aidan Delbis play a couple of societal dregs who kidnap a high-powered pharmaceutical executive (Emma Stone) because they think she’s an alien. Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, who helmed 2023’s excellent Poor Things, the Best Picture Oscar nominee is a must-watch, even if you’re only a little weird. (And if you want more weirdness, it’s based on an even odder South Korean film called Save the Green Planet.) Stream Bugonia on Peacock.

Blue Moon (2025)

The great Richard Linklater (Dazed and Confused, Boyhood) directs Ethan Hawk in a biopic about the last days of legendary lyricist Lorenz Hart. The year is 1943, and Oklahoma! is opening on Broadway. While Richard Rodgers is celebrating his biggest hit with his new partner Oscar Hammerstein, Hart is left to drink and pine for his muse Elizabeth, played by Margaret Qualley. Ethan Hawk delivers a career-defining and Oscar-nominated performance in this funny, sad rumination on the nature and price of genius. Stream Blue Moon on Netflix.

If I Had Legs I’d Kick You (2025)

Production company A24’s unbroken string of interesting, intelligent movies continues with If I Had Legs I’d Kick You. Directed by Mary Bronstein, If I Had Legs is a tense look at the toxic side of motherhood. Rose Byrne earned an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Linda, an exhausted mom caring for her chronically ill daughter while navigating her own mental breakdown. It’s not exactly an uplifting crowd-pleaser, but it is an uncompromising, unforgettable film. Stream If I Had Legs I’d Kick You on HBO Max.

One Battle After Another (2025)

Paul Thomas Anderson’s nuanced, intelligent thriller about resistance and race in a fascistic, anti-immigration United States is an instant classic. Featuring fantastic performances from heavyweights like Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, and Regina Hall, One Battle After Another is that rare movie that’s equal parts thoughtful and exciting. It was nominated for 13 Oscars. Stream one Battle After Another on HBO Max.

Song Sung Blue (2025)

I would not be interested in a movie about “Sweet Caroline” singer Neil Diamond, but I could totally get down with a movie about a Neil Diamond impersonator. Song Sung Blue tells the true story of Milwaukee-based husband and wife Mike and Claire Sardina, who performed at state fairs as Neil Diamond tribute duo “Lightning & Thunder” throughout the 1990s, and even found a weird kind of semi-fame by opening for bands like Urge Overkill and Pearl Jam. Kate Hudson was nominated for an Oscar for playing Lightning and Hugh Jackman was robbed. Stream Song Sung Blue on Peacock.

Sinners (2025)

This one-of-kind flick mashes up so many styles, it’s practically its own genre. A historical-horror-ensemble romance-drama-comedy-musical exploring race and historical prejudice in the United States, Sinners tells its story through both song and vampire violence. It is absolutely top-notch in every cinematic way, which is probably why it earned a record 16 Oscar nominations. Stream Sinners on HBO Max and Prime Video.

The Running Man (2025)

Based on a 1982 novel by Stephen King (writing as Richard Bachman) and directed by Edgar Wright, The Running Man is a dystopian near-future sci-fi action movie in which the most popular show on TV is a deadly reality competition with contestants who must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins. I hate to admit that I would totally watch that show, and you should totally watch this movie. Stream The Running Man on MGM+ and Paramount+.

Eternity (2025)

In this high-concept romantic comedy, Elizabeth Olsen plays Joan, a recently deceased woman with a very important decision before her. She has a week in purgatory to choose who to spend eternity with: her first husband Luke—a handsome, romantic dude played by Callum Turner—or her second husband, Larry—a dependable everyman (Miles Teller). Stream Eternity on Apple TV+.

Rental Family (2025)

The resurgence of Brendan Frasier is delightful. In Rental Family, Fraser is perfectly cast as an American actor in Tokyo whose job is playing different roles in people’s lives. A premise like that could set up a dystopian nightmare of a movie, but director Hikari takes a lighter, more subtle approach to exploring the thin line between performance and reality. Stream Rental Family on Hulu.

MacBook Neo hands-on: Apple’s $599 laptop feels shockingly great

The most interesting product Apple announced this week was its cheapest and least powerful laptop, the MacBook Neo. It’s just fascinating to see the company tackle an entirely new category — it’s not a premium ultraportable like the MacBook Air, and it’s not a computing powerhouse like the MacBook Pro. It’s simply an affordable $599 laptop. And after spending some time with it at Apple’s spring launch event today, I’m convinced it’s going to be a huge hit for the company.

For a $599 system, the MacBook Neo doesn’t look or feel like a budget machine. Its colorful aluminum case looks even more attractive than the MacBook Air and Pro’s, and at 2.7 pounds (the same as the Air), it’s easy to carry. I need to spend more time with its 13-inch screen, but at first glance it looks decently vibrant as well. It’s a shame Apple didn’t include a MagSafe charging port, but hey, at least the headphone jack is still around. And for many people, two USB-C ports should be plenty.

The downsides to the MacBook Air became more apparent as I used it. Its keyboard feels a bit flimsy — it’s almost reminiscent of the old-school butterfly keyboards. And while its touchpad feels smooth and responsive, it lacked the sturdiness from the company’s more expensive haptic touchpads. And then there are the starting specs: For $599, the MacBook Neo comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Bumping up to $699 gets you 512GB of storage and a Touch ID button, but you’re still stuck with 8GB of RAM.

For a basic productivity machine, I suppose 8GB of RAM can work. But when coupled with the slower performance of the A18 Pro mobile chip, it’s unclear if the MacBook Neo will hold up over time. At the very least, the MacBook Neo serves an important role as Apple’s cheapest laptop. It’s an inexpensive way to bring people into the world of macOS, and it could be a great option for schools who want something a bit more sturdy than your average Chromebook.
