Cinelli’s new ‘unkillable’ HoBootleg Geo mixes classic steel with modern gravel tech
Cinelli’s latest HoBootleg combines contemporary geometry, massive 3-inch tyre clearances, a UDH-compatible dropout, dropper post routing and Columbus steel.
The 2026 HoBootleg Geo looks like a mash-up of classic steel tourer and singletrack-capable gravel rig. With prices for complete bikes starting at £2,199, I believe it could be one of the best new steel gravel bikes for 2026.
Full builds and a frameset option are available now.

What is the HoBootleg Geo?

Cinelli’s original Bootleg bikes came from the burgeoning fixed-gear rat racing scene in the brand’s home city of Milan.
The first HoBootleg was released in 2013, an adventurous take on those original rat racing steel bikes. It was a modern interpretation of the classic touring bike in the vein of the Genesis Croix de Fer and its ilk – a bike capable of taking larger-volume tyres and built for a bit of rough road riding.
Cinelli is pitching the HoBootleg as a near-unkillable self-sufficient world-traveller. The geometry has been tweaked to take on singletrack and technical mountain riding beyond where the trail ends.

HoBootleg Geo details

The HoBootleg frame, made from Columbus double-butted steel replete with reinforcing gussets, has geometry derived from classic rigid mountain bikes. That means complete builds with short stems, wide bars and zero-offset seatposts. The bottom bracket shell is a robust threaded BSA standard.
At the front, it features a Columbus Futura Adventure carbon fork with a flip chip, enabling the rake to be switched between 45mm and 50mm. The frame is corrected for a suspension fork. The fork is also dynamo-ready with routing on the left side.
The bike has semi-integrated routing for a gravel dropper post for when you want to get into really technical terrain.

The frame and fork have all the mounts for a transcontinental trip, with triple anything mounts on the fork. There are rear rack mounts, five down tube mounts (three above, two below), two seat tube mounts and mounts for fenders/mudguards.
With 29-inch wheel compatibility and massive three-inch tyre clearance, is the HoBootleg GEO setting a new standard for tyre clearance or a step too far? Time will tell.

The £2,199 complete bike comes with Shimano’s 11-speed CUES groupset and WTB ST rims laced to Shimano hubs. It gets WTB Ranger tyres, and Cinelli’s own Adventure Curve bar, Cinelli alloy stem and 27.2mm-diameter seatpost, as well as Selle Royal’s short SRX off-road saddle.
The new Cinelli HoBootleg Geo is available in Desert Mud colour, with framesets starting at €1,300 and full builds from £2,199 / €2,500.
Specification highlights
- Frame: Double butted steel (UDH & dropper post compatible)
- Fork: Columbus Futura Adventure (dynamo compatible)
- Groupset: Shimano CUES 1×11 mix (hydraulic disc brakes)
- Wheelset: WTB ST Rims / Shimano hubs
- Tyres: WTB Ranger 29×2.25in TCS
- Saddle: Selle Royal SRX

You Can Now Share Your Quest Activity As Your Discord Status
Meta is rolling out the ability to link your account to Discord to share what Quest app or Horizon World you’re currently in.
At Connect 2025, Meta announced that Discord was coming to Quest in 2026, including the ability to share your status to show friends what you’re playing.
The Discord app for Quest is still set for 2026, so isn’t here yet. But what is now “rolling out”, seemingly ahead of schedule, is the status sharing feature.

You can set it up on the web in the App Connections section of the Meta Accounts Center on the web, or in the mobile app at Accounts Center –> Your information and permissions –> App connections.
If you don’t see Discord listed yet, it means it hasn’t rolled out to your account yet, so you need to check again at a later date.
Meta says that the rollout is “gradual” in case there are any issues or bugs.

Note that for the app or world you’re in to show up you’ll need to have your Horizon Active Status set to Online or Joinable, and you can thus hide your current activity by switching to Offline.

Three Changes Coming to Your Apple Watch With watchOS 26.2
Yesterday, Apple unveiled release candidates (RCs) for its slate of upcoming updates. An RC, as the name implies, is the version of a software update Apple intends to release to the general public. Before it rolls out, though, Apple sends the update out to beta testers to see if there are any bugs or glitches that need addressing. If not, these are the updates that will hit your Apple devices sometime this month.
That includes watchOS 26.2, Apple’s latest OS for its line of smartwatches. While there aren’t nearly as many new features and changes in this update as there were in watchOS 26 proper, there are still some key things to highlight in this RC. In fact, as noted by 9to5Mac, there are three:
Updates to Sleep Score
watchOS 26 introduced Sleep Score, a feature that was sorely missing on the Apple Watch. Sleep Score analyzes a host of data collected while you slept, including sleep duration, the time you actually went to bed, and any wake-ups you might have had during the night, and gives you an overall score. The idea is to glance at the score and see how you slept that night, so you can either take steps to improve your sleep going forward, or know you’re on the right track. The total score is out of 100: Duration gets you up to 50 points, bedtime gets up to 30, and sleep interruptions go up to 20.
watchOS 26.2 refines the feature, by adjusting the final Sleep Score metrics. The feature had a tendency to give you higher scores than you might have otherwise felt you earned: A mediocre night’s sleep might have have scored “High” on your chart, which wouldn’t have made much sense to you.
Going forward, the scoring is a bit more conservative. Here’s what you can expect, and how the scores changed from the last update:
-
Very Low: 0–40 (previously 0–29)
-
Low: 41–60 (previously 30–49)
-
OK: 61–80 (previously 50–69)
-
High: 81–95 (previously 70–89)
-
Very High: 96–100 (previously 90–100)
You’ll also noticed Apple changed the “Excellent” score to “Very High,” which keeps the naming a bit more consistent.
Music app glitch fix
If you’ve been using the Music app on your Apple Watch, but have been struggling to get your songs to actually, you know, play, good news: Apple says in the release notes for watchOS 26.2 RC that there is now a fix for an issue where the Music app doesn’t move to the next song.
Enhanced Safety Alerts
Finally, watchOS 26.2, along with other Apple updates, introduces Enhanced Safety Alerts. According to Apple, this feature will warn you about “imminent threats,” including floods, natural disasters, and other emergencies. The feature will also include data like maps and links to official safety advice.
Apple has been positioning the Apple Watch to be an overall health and safety device, and this feature only seems to complement that. Recent Apple Watches have hypertension alerts, which can help you passively identify high blood pressure, while fall and crash protection can automatically call for help in emergencies when you can’t reach the phone.
When does watchOS 26.2 come out?
Apple doesn’t have a set date for watchOS 26.2, or iOS 26.2 and macOS 26.2 for that matter. However, now that the RCs are out, these updates are likely coming soon. As long as there aren’t any glaring bugs or glitches in these RCs, Apple will likely ship the updates sometime this month.
Russia Blocks Roblox, Apple’s FaceTime
Russia has blocked Apple’s FaceTime and the gaming platform Roblox as part of a broader crackdown on foreign tech platforms. CBC News reports: Both restrictions are part of an accelerating clampdown on foreign tech platforms: In the case of FaceTime, Russian authorities allege it is being used for criminal activity, while Roblox was accused of distributing extremist materials and “LGBT propaganda.” The move follows restrictions against Google’s YouTube, Meta’s WhatsApp and the Telegram messaging service.
Critics say the curbs amount to censorship and a tightening of state control over private communications. Russia says they are legitimate law enforcement measures. Russian authorities have this year launched a state-backed rival app called Max, which critics say could be used for surveillance — allegations that state media have dismissed as false.
Justifying its decision, the communications regulator, Roskomnadzor, said in an emailed statement: “According to law enforcement agencies, FaceTime is being used to organize and carry out terrorist attacks in the country, recruit perpetrators, and commit fraud and other crimes against Russian citizens.” The watchdog did not cite evidence in support of the allegations.
