This is a video of musician Davidlap (of playing guitar with hands on fire fame) trying to replicate some of the sound effects from Star Wars with an electric guitar. Specifically: Chewbacca, a blaster, R2-D2, a lightsaber, and Darth Vader. Now not to brag or anything, but I’m somewhat of a semi-pro foley artist myself, and I’m pretty sure this is not how they made those sounds in the movies. “What did they use?” I think a slide whistle.
