While this is billed by Windows as being “Mixed Reality,” most of the focus of this new product looks to be very much VR-driven. So once again we see Microsoft put their own branding spin of what is already in the market on the VR side of things? That said, true Augmented Reality devices look to be tremendously compelling as well.
Windows Mixed Reality is an amazing new experience combining the thrill of virtual reality with a phenomenal sense of presence. Now, you can travel the world. Get inside the games you love. Even move across time and space. Choose from a wide selection of great content and immerse yourself in a new reality, with you at the center of everything. With Windows Mixed Reality, you can escape the everyday into a world of imagination.
This video below however shows off the differences from full-VR headsets and we get a better look at the controllers as well.
The Dell Visor and controllers come in at $450. Thanks cageymaru for the links.
