So Yelp is selling its food delivery service Eat24 to GrubHub for a bit less than $300 million. That’s a pretty good chunk of change for dropping off food to stoners with a more distinguished palate other than pizza. I mostly use DoorDash myself when I need a meal delivered. Hopefully, this leads to better prices and discounts as competition is a good thing or at least to more convenience.
The Eat24 deal is still subject to customary closing conditions. But it looks like the combination of these two companies — each basically operating where they excel while cross-pollinating — may be the thing that ends up re-igniting growth at Yelp.
