Friday the 13th: The Game Sells 1.8 Million, Getting Physical Release

Publisher Gun Media has announced the physical release of its Friday the 13th: The Game after having sold a respectable 1.8 million copies on digital platforms. Players have enjoyed terrorizing digital campers over the summer as Jason Voorhees and vice-versa at Camp Crystal Lake. Any of its players can attest that it is a decent 1v7 party game with some friends and a few beers while every tries to outrun the dude with a machete and some jank. The physical release is due out on the Friday of October 13th for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

The multiplayer survival game was popular almost the moment it launched, though there were a lot of twists and turns on the way to reaching that point. Friday the 13th: The Game actually began development as a project called Summer Camp, until Illfonic secured the license and launched a Kickstarter campaign to secure the funding necessary to complete its development.
