Model Airplane Flies With Spinning KFC Chicken Buckets For Wings

kfc-bucket-winged-airplane.jpg

This is an 18-minute video (skip to past 11 minutes unless you want to see the build and early testing) of a model airplane capable of flight with two backwards-spinning KFC chicken buckets for wings. It flies thanks to the Magnus effect, or how spherical and cylindrical objects can create lift when given a backspin (the same reason this basketball falls in a parabolic arc). *shrug* I don’t know, my brain has felt like a cloud ever since I woke up. I was so out of it this morning I accidentally wore two different shoes to the gym. “That’s pretty bad.” I don’t belong to a gym!

Keep going for the video.
