This is a photo from Florida of a lightning strike that caused the camera’s rolling shutter to register God’s wrath as a solid beam of light instead of the branched shape you’d expect (previously: the same thing happening above Mayan ruins). You see, instead of capturing all elements of a photo simultaneously, a camera with a rolling shutter records the image line by line either vertically or horizontally (in this case vertically), which caused the lines recorded with the lightning flashed to appear almost entirely white due to the sudden change in light. Of course there’s also the possibility that this person actually captured a photo of God beaming one of his children up to heaven. This is Florida after all, old folks are dying all the time. Plus stupid people.
Keep going for a gif explaining the phenomenon.
