Oh Wow: Artist Recreates Van Gogh's 'A Starry Night' By Swirling Paint Atop A Pool Of Black Water

This is a worthwhile video of artist Garip Ay recreated Van Gogh’s ‘A Starry Night’ by splattering and swirling and dripping paint on top a pool of black-painted water. Then he swirls the finished painting into oblivion and recreates a Van Gogh self portrait atop the previous starry night using the same technique. Some people are so talented and creative. My artist friends? Just awful. I went to a gallery showing of my buddy’s work the other week and all he’d done is bought a bunch of people’s old slide projector slides from the thrift store, poked a bunch of random holes in them with a needle, then projected them one-by-one on a wall of the gallery with eerie music playing in the background. I’m not even kidding. I promised not to tell his parents where the $120,000 they spent sending him to art school went, but he better get his shit together and start producing some tasteful nudes pronto.

Keep going for the video.
