This is a commercial for a conceptual spa themed amusement park in Beppu, Japan. Beppu is a spa resort town in Kyushu and has over 2,000 hot springs. For reference, I have one cold shower that gets lukewarm between the hours of 2 and 3:15PM. Maybe I should move to Beppu. Enter the Spamusement Park Project, a conceptual spa themed amusement park proposed by the city. In the video, Beppu Mayor Yasuhiro Nagano claims they’ll make the park a reality if the video reaches over 1,000,000 views, which it already has. So I guess we’ll wait and see if Beppu is going to put their money where their mouth is, or if that mouth is just full of marketing lies and soapy bath water. I’m betting on the latter, but this is Japan we’re talking about though so I could be eating my words. And, much more difficultly, a bar of bath soap with hair in it and a rubber ducky (I like to challenge myself).
