This is a video of the Slow-Mo Guys shooting the wick off a burning candle with a pellet gun while filming it at 28,000 frames/second. For reference, that’s 27,999 frames per second more than a single frame (aka a photograph). It takes them several attempts before they actually hit the wick, presumably because it’s difficult to shoot the wick of a candle with a pellet gun. I mean sure I could have done it on the first try, but that’s just me and my friends don’t call me the Dead-Eyed Dandy for no reason. They call me that because I only wear vests and my left eye points straight down.
Keep going for the video, but skip to 4:35 for the actual hit and sweet slow motion results.
