Nontechnical talking points from Microsoft ‘suits’ and paid ‘analysts’ are promoted by veiled media operatives which saturate the pool of news and end up reducing the signal-to-noise ratio, in effect spreading disinformation (fake news) on behalf of Microsoft so as to hide from very simple (albeit uncomfortable) facts; habitually they also misplace blame (offloading culpability for malware to “Linux”) in order to shift the public’s attention, partly because GNU/Linux and BSD are optimal alternatives for security-minded governments/enterprises
