Linux-based operating systems are virtually everywhere these days. Linux platforms run on many of the world’s servers, super computers, and embedded devices. The Linux kernel also powers millions of desktop machines. However, one area where Linux has really dominated is mobile devices. Android phones running the Linux kernel are used by over a billion people.
