Stay together but stay away from me…

My personal list of ways to stay connected and socialize while isolating myself.

Related to work life:
LinkedIn: If you are looking for a job this is the first thing you should update.
HighFive: Teleconference app
Gitlab or GitHub: Collaborate together on projects that require coding and versioning
*Zoom: Another conference app but wouldn’t recommend unless you don’t care who joins or listens in due to security flaws. So until they get their act together this made the list to let you know to find something else.

For the real geeks: Setup your own nextcloud and collabora office, mailservers, git server, WordPress etc

Gaming:
Discord: Voice, Text Video etc pretty much everyone uses discord
Steam: Pretty much everyone buys games on steam and it has its own friend list to get you playing together

For the real geeks: Setup your own rocketchat, slackware, mumble, teamspeak etc

Tabletop Gaming:
Roll20: Dice-rolling, conference, maps etc everything you need for tabletop games under one roof

For the real geeks: You are already a real geek

For the real geeks: Make your own oculus development group and side-load apps or code your own.

Social:
Facebook: Don’t feel the need to explain this
YouTube: Upload videos
Twitch: Live stream
Twiter: Short messages and pics
Instagram: pictures
Snapchat: pictures that “Supposedly” disappear after a few seconds
Imgur: more pictures
Vine: short videos

For real geeks: Do your own website/server to use that can do any of the things above or make an API or APP that automates the processes of posting to any of the above.
