According to industry sources, GLOBALFOUNDRIES is looking for a buyer for its 12-inch Fab 7 in Singapore. “Samsung and China-based chipmakers through third-party investment funds are potential buyers, according to the speculation.”



Industry observers said it would easier for GLOBALFOUNDRIES to sell its facilities piecemeal than the entire company in one single deal, if the foundry house were indeed seeking an exit strategy.
