Firefox to Feature Sponsored Content as of Next Week

Mozilla has announced that sponsored links will begin appearing in Firefox starting May 9th. This is the second attempt by the company to integrate ads directly into its browser: a user’s browsing history will be scanned to determine what advertisements are shown.

Mozilla thinks you won’t mind this because all the analytics is done on the client and personal information is never requested or sent to a server somewhere. The organization does collect some info but characterizes it as “technical and interaction data” and swears it cannot possibly identify you.
