TechCruch is reporting that Apple has announced the end of production of AirPort base stations, including AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme and AirPort Time Capsule. In a statement provided to TechCrunch, an apple spokesperson said “We’re discontinuing the Apple AirPort base station products, they will be available through Apple.com, Apple’s retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers while supplies last.”



In addition, MacRumors is reporting that Apple will be providing service and parts for the current generation of AirPort base stations for the next five years. Not entirely surprising to me though, Apple has not been into making new hardware for the most part lately.
