With the passing of Stephen Hawking yesterday in Cambridge, the folks at CuriosityStream are offering his new 3-part TV series for free viewing online. I think this is a fitting tribute to the man that turned quantum physics on its head and offered up many interesting theories about black holes, AI, and alien life in the universe. RIP Mr. Hawking.



In the show, Hawking takes trips to the sun and planets in our solar system and beyond via a digital spaceship called the S.S. Hawking. In the first episode, Hawking ponders how AI could impact a civilization – not on Earth, but on an alien planet whose inhabitants appear to have left or gone extinct.
