Google is bringing back the camera, yeah, the one you hold in your hand that is not an application on your phone. This one is dubbed the VR180, and it basically puts half-sphere recording into the palm of your hand. The idea here is to be able to provide immersive VR content to anyone the way we see traditional cameras being used. Of course to view these properly you will need some type of low cost Head Mounted Display configuration like Google Cardboard or Daydream devices. The first two units out of the gate are the Lenovo Mirage Camera and YI Horizon VR180 Camera. One thing for sure, this is going to bring the dickpic into a whole new genre.
Crisp, three-dimensional immersive photos & videos of the world in wide angle and ultra HD 4K resolution let you relive captured moments with a remarkable sense of presence. VR180 cameras capture photos and video in 3D, but can be viewed and shared in either 2D or 3D. A VR headset, including even a Google Cardboard headset, is all that’s required to experience in VR so your friends and family can step into your memories and look around like they were there.
This just in, VR180 cameras soon to be replaced by your phone.
