According to the WHO, malaria kills almost 500,000 people every year, and Zanzibar has quite a number of those deaths because of their climate. For years Zanzibar has been combating malaria with bed nets and household insecticides, but now they’ve decided it’s time to attack mosquitoes where they breed/hatch. Drones have been the perfect tool for them to identify mosquito habitats so that they can begin to target those areas. Hopefully, this technology will make a dent everywhere around the world.
