The folks at Ubisoft are at it again with DRM overkill. According to a member of ‘Revolt’, the team that cracked Wolfenstein II, Ubisoft has implemented VMProtect on top of Denuvo on copies of Assasin’s Creed Origin. Furthermore, users on Steam are complaining about excessive cpu usage when playing. This is not the way to treat your paying customers. Based on all of this it looks my self-imposed boycott of Ubisoft will continue.
Ubisoft, being Ubisoft, included Denuvo’s DRM for Assasin’s Creed Origins. But with all the news for Denuvo being bad, the company knew the game would be cracked in hours or days using Denuvo. So, instead of simply removing the customer-annoying DRM, Ubisoft decided to add another layer of DRM on top of it, in the form of VMProtect.
