NY State Bans Vaping Indoors

In thirty days, the state of New York will ban the use of e-cigarettes indoors and near certain areas such as similar to how tobacco is treated. As part of the Clean Indoor Air Act, the measure seeks to provide a safer environment for everyone in restaurants, bars and workplaces. A recent study has suggested that vaping maybe just as harmful as tobacco cigarettes causing similar damage to DNA .

“E-cigarettes often contain toxic chemicals in addition to nicotine, something bystanders should not be forced to breathe,” said state Sen. Kemp Hannon, a Republican from Garden City who sponsored the legislation. “With recent reports showing their use among minors increasing, New York must continue to work to regulate these devices in a common sense manner.”
