Apple and Spielberg Have Plans to Reboot Amazing Stories

In a move set to make Apple a competitor in original content production, the technology giant and director Steven Spielberg are close getting a deal together to reboot “Amazing Stories.” The original TV series ran in the mid 1980s as an anthology show featuring sci-fi and horror stories. Only running for two seasons, the show was not receptive to the audience of that decade, but could possibly become a hit with today’s binge watching geeks.

For Apple, the tech heavyweight is set to drop $1 billion on content in the year ahead, aiming to enter a competitive space dominated by streaming giants like Netflix, HBO, and Hulu. Apple is looking to produce about 10 big-budget original shows in the next year.
