David Schor of WikiChip.org has revealed that Coffee Lake processors are using a new electrical pin configuration, confirming Intel’s earlier claims: these CPUs have 391 VSS (ground) and 146 VCC (electrical) pins, 14 and 16 more than Kaby Lake, respectively. This is reportedly why Coffee Lake processors are incompatible with older series motherboards that feature the LGA 1151 socket.
