Now, I understand Borderlands 2 released five years ago to this day. But nearly six-year-old Skyrim will receive a new update with a Survival Mode. Technically an update for Skyrim Special Edition, update 1.5 allows users to try out the all-new Survival Mode through Skyrim’s Creation Club. Survival Mode will have fast travel disabled, no health regeneration, afflictions to challenge you on your adventures.



Of course, you can always download mods that already include these “new” features for free. A beta test is currently underway for users who have opt-in to Steam Beta. Patch notes here.


PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will get to experience Survival Mode and other Creations early next month. Both PC and console players will get Survival Mode free for one week once it launches on their preferred platform.
