Over in Canada, Four Directions Financial is offering the homeless and customers living in poverty another solution to access to its banking institutions through the use of biometrics, foregoing ID cards. Clients will access the banking services by way of a thumbprint or iris scan. So far, more than 500 clients have been helped.
“When you don’t have identification, simple tasks become incredibly frustrating and time consuming…for many Albertans living in poverty, this is an all too familiar problem. They face incredible barriers that make it difficult to make positive changes,” Ceci said.
