On August 22nd, the U.S. Army held an exhibition of autonomous versions of several military vehicles. One of the vehicles demonstrated was the Polaris MRZR military all-terrain vehicle with a tethered-drone. This was part of the Combat Vehicle Modernization project to “broaden horizons” to repurpose older military vehicles.
“Using vehicles in this way increases options for commanders and enhances soldier and unit effectiveness during high-risk operations such as breaching, obscuration, sustainment and reconnaissance, and security against an evolving enemy in complex environments,” officials said in a press release.
