AMD Radeon RX Vega Prices Rumored to Be around $850

Swedish hardware site Nordichardware claims to have seen the retailer price list for AMD’s RX Vega: the current pricing is detailed to be around 7,000 SEK excluding VAT, which equates to roughly $850 when transferred into US currency. Many seem unamused, as that places Vega above the GTX 1080 price wise, despite benchmarks showing that AMD’s offering may not be wholly superior.

Taking into consideration that this is purely rumor and unconfirmed, it would seem that $850 is actually much higher than many were anticipating. However, we also have very little information about exactly which RX Vega model they are focusing on. To price the card at a very similar rate to the GTX 1080 could prove a devastating blow for those that were anticipating much lower pricing. Of course, the price is still subject to change and we would hope for a lower price point. Take into consideration the card performance benchmarks we have seen that place it between the 1070 and 1080: such a price could prove damaging.
