Better HVMNs through BIO-hacking

I saw this headline last night and got really excited. Then I watched the auto-start video, and came away feeling like this guy did not get millions of investor dollars to “make better humans,” but rather millions of dollars to be able to sell the next gimmick that could be sold for millions of dollars…that could help sell millions of dollars are useless vitamins. That said, getting tagged with a device that allows real-time blood glucose monitoring was pretty cool, but hardly seems to be hacking to me. I bet they call copy and pasting someone’s password “hacking” too. Call me a skeptic. This is on CNBC news, so it might very well be just a paid news spot too.

He’s the co-founder of HVMN (allegedly pronounced “human”) -formerly Nootrobox – which sells subscriptions for monthly boxes of cognitive supplements. The company is also behind Go Cubes, “chewable coffee” bites sold at convenience stores to compete with products like 5-hour energy.

Maybe I just need to have my chewable coffee, get out of my bathrobe, and stop yelling at the kids on my lawn.
