This is an occasion to highlight the amazing accomplishments of Black Americans through time. Simply put, the possibilities are endless! We\u2019ve got something for everyone: whether you\u2019re a learner, an educator, a volunteer, or any lover of tech, everyone can participate.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>For learners: Celebrate Black History Month with <\/strong>free coding resources<\/h2>\n<p>This month, we want to empower young people to think about how they can use code as a tool to celebrate Black history with innovation and creativity. We\u2019ve designed a project card listing the perfect projects to jumpstart young learners\u2019 imagination:\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-container-61f93e09f3c12 wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-green-cyan-background-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2022\/01\/February-Project-Card-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Download the projects card to get coding<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>There are projects for beginner coders, as well as intermediate and advanced coders, in Scratch, Python, HTML\/CSS, and Ruby plus Raspberry Pi.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/www.prime-wow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/48035693776_7ec08629cc_k-500x333-1.jpg\" alt=\"Three young tech creators show off their tech project at Coolest Projects.\" class=\"wp-image-78172\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<h2>For educators: Support Black learners and their communities<\/h2>\n<p>We\u2019re working on research to better understand how to support the Black community and other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/blog\/culturally-responsive-computing-teaching-schools-england-roots-research-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">underrepresented communities to engage with computer science<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/www.prime-wow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/48035449363_f8b19cf6c6_k-500x333-1.jpg\" alt=\"At Coolest Projects, a group of people explore a coding project.\" class=\"wp-image-78173\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Take some time this month to explore the following resources to make sure we\u2019re growing into a more diverse and inclusive community:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/blog\/culturally-relevant-computing-curriculum-guidelines-for-teachers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Culturally relevant pedagogy guide<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong> We\u2019ve worked with a group of teachers and researchers to co-create a guide sharing the key elements of a culturally relevant and responsive teaching approach to curriculum design and teaching in the classroom. <a href=\"https:\/\/static.raspberrypi.org\/files\/research\/Guide+to+culturally+relevant+and+responsive+computing+in+the+classroom.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Download the guide<\/a> to see how to teach computing and computer science in a way that values all your learners\u2019 knowledge, ways of learning, and heritage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/computing-education-research-online-seminars\/previous-seminars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Equity, diversity, and inclusion research seminar series<\/strong><\/a><strong>: <\/strong>For six months in 2021, we hosted monthly seminars with invited speakers who research how to make computing education diverse and inclusive. For example, check out the recordings of the talks given <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/blog\/equity-focused-teaching-in-computer-science-education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">by Prof Tia Madkins, Dr Nicol R. Howard, and Shomari Jones on equity-focused teaching<\/a>; and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/blog\/engaging-black-girls-in-stem-learning-through-game-design\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">by Dr Jakita O.
