The Director&#8217;s Cut, which releases on August 20, also brings new armor sets, a director&#8217;s commentary, and a digital art book.\u00a0The PlayStation 5 edition <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3CZKL1H\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">costs $69.99<\/a>, and the PlayStation 4 version <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2XHFr31\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">is $59.99<\/a>\u2014though you can upgrade a PS4 copy of the base game to the Director&#8217;s Cut <a href=\"https:\/\/store.playstation.com\/en-us\/product\/UP9000-CUSA11456_00-GHOSTDIRECTORCUT\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">for $19.99<\/a>. (Note: A co-op multiplayer mode was not available in the prelaunch review code.)<\/p>\n<p>The Iki content is separate from the stories and characters of the original game, which took place on the mainland.\u00a0<em>Ghost of Tsushima<\/em>&#8216;s protagonist, Jin, is still the main character, and as he travels to the island of Iki, he encounters an isolated people who resent outside influence, especially from samurai like him.<\/p>\n<p>Jin is viewed with suspicion, even as the Mongols\u2014the primary antagonists of <em>Ghost of Tsushima<\/em>\u2014continue their raids on Iki&#8217;s outnumbered pirate population. The islanders&#8217; distrust of outsiders is explained as the plot unfolds, and the new material explores themes ignored by the original game.
