{"id":452511,"date":"2018-06-26T16:16:23","date_gmt":"2018-06-26T20:16:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.prime-wow.com\/?p=452511"},"modified":"2018-06-26T16:16:23","modified_gmt":"2018-06-26T20:16:23","slug":"you-can-now-play-mario-kart-8-with-labos-cardboard-motorbike-controller","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.prime-wow.com\/?p=452511","title":{"rendered":"You can now play Mario Kart 8 with Labo\u2019s cardboard motorbike controller"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"rss-wrap\">\n<div><a name=\"page-1\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"video\">\n<div class=\"wrapper\" \/><\/div>\n<p>In a surprise announcement this morning, Nintendo revealed a free downloadable update for <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/gaming\/2017\/04\/mario-kart-8-is-still-great-in-its-deluxe-switch-edition\/\"><em>Mario Kart 8 Deluxe<\/em><\/a> that will allow the Switch game to be controlled using the Toy-Con Motorbike controller constructed with the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit.<\/p>\n<p>As shown in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XopQBfMnyBI\">a brief preview video<\/a>, the cardboard enclosure uses the Joy-Con&#8217;s gyroscopic motion sensing to detect a handle twist for acceleration and leaning to steer. Cardboard protrusions on the motorbike controller can push buttons on the Joy-Cons to activate items, braking, and drifting.
