This time, however, the company\u2019s eschewing a tried-and-true franchise <a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=UNWOL33pELk\"><ins>in favor of an original IP<\/ins><\/a>. <em>Absolum<\/em> is a fantasy beat-\u2019em-up that\u2019s being co-developed by Guard Crush Games and Supamonk.<\/p>\n<div id=\"5337d05b04c24b21980669709a04c6ed\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UNWOL33pELk?si=ft9PuysIjEVuV04a\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>The game looks to retain the core beat-\u2019em-up mechanics the developer has become known for, but with some flourishes. Dotemu boasts of &#8220;branching paths to explore,&#8221; which is giving me <em>Castlevania III: Dracula&#8217;s Curse<\/em> vibes. The developer has also implemented roguelike mechanics of some kind, with it going so far as to describe the game as a &#8220;rogue-\u2018em-up.&#8221; We don\u2019t know the details of these mechanics just yet.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"end-legacy-contents\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We do know that <em>Absolum<\/em> will be playable as a solo campaign or in a co-op mode, offering both local and online play. Gamers will be able to choose from four different fantasy-themed characters. Also, the animation looks pretty dang gorgeous. It\u2019ll be available for Switch, PlayStation <a data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/1904480\/Absolum\/\"><ins>and PC<\/ins><\/a> later this year.<\/p>\n<div id=\"aa8418da73c94512a209162b63d87bec\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OAtjdG_edIk?si=tGLBZW33XSuOghfi\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Just because <em>Absolum<\/em> is a brand-new IP, doesn\u2019t mean that Dotemu has given up on reviving classics for modern audiences.
