{"id":1236722,"date":"2025-03-04T09:54:29","date_gmt":"2025-03-04T14:54:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.prime-wow.com\/?p=1236722"},"modified":"2025-03-04T09:54:29","modified_gmt":"2025-03-04T14:54:29","slug":"climate-change-is-harming-the-health-of-americans-and-they-know-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.prime-wow.com\/?p=1236722","title":{"rendered":"Climate change is harming the health of Americans, and they know it"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>In the past decade, Americans have become increasingly aware that climate change is harming the health of people in the US, according to a new survey.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/climatecommunication.yale.edu\/publications\/climate-change-in-the-american-mind-public-perceptions-of-the-health-harms-of-global-warming-fall-2024\/?utm_source=Yale+Program+on+Climate+Change+Communication&amp;utm_campaign=9bf7f97756-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2025_02_27_03_34&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_-9bf7f97756-711562559\">survey<\/a>, which was conducted in December and released Friday, also shows increased trust in physicians, climate scientists, federal agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Environmental Protection Agency, local public health departments and the World Health Organization for providing information about the health harms of global warming.<\/p>\n<p>These sources of information are under threat: President Donald Trump\u2019s administration has <a href=\"https:\/\/insideclimatenews.org\/news\/26022025\/epa-would-shrink-to-1970-staffing-levels-when-the-skies-were-dark-with-smog-under-proposed-plan\/\">proposed<\/a> cutting most of the EPA\u2019s budget and initiated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/shots-health-news\/2025\/02\/25\/nx-s1-5307117\/cdc-firings-infectious-disease-response\">mass firings<\/a> at the CDC, <a href=\"https:\/\/insideclimatenews.org\/news\/31012025\/trump-administration-war-on-science\/\">taken down<\/a> climate and health information from government websites<strong>, <\/strong>frozen or revoked funding for some climate research and <a href=\"https:\/\/insideclimatenews.org\/news\/28012025\/federal-spending-freeze-environment-emergency-management-impact\/\">interventions<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/insideclimatenews.org\/news\/16022025\/climate-environmental-justice-programs-trump-freeze\/\">stalled<\/a> environmental justice initiatives, and <a href=\"https:\/\/insideclimatenews.org\/news\/02032025\/trump-epa-greenhouse-gas-pollution-endangerment-finding\/\">proposed rescinding<\/a> a 16-year-old federal finding that mandates government action on greenhouse gases.
