The automaton is powered via hand crank or lowering weight, and uses 1,170 pieces <a href=\"https:\/\/theawesomer.com\/globe-spinning-automaton\/740723\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to delicately spin a globe in its five talons<\/a> while the fingers take turns returning to their starting positions. That\u2019s remarkable. I don\u2019t know why, but automatons have always fascinated me.
