Since then, the Experience AI programme has grown rapidly, reaching thousands of educators all over the world. Read on to find out more about the impact of our resources, and what we are learning.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Experience AI resources<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.prime-wow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Experience-AI-2-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-89580\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.prime-wow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Experience-AI-2-5.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Experience-AI-2-5-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Experience-AI-2-5-450x338.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/rpf.io\/expai-impactblog1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Experience AI resources<\/a> are designed to help educators introduce AI and AI safety to 11- to 14-year-olds. They consist of:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Foundations of AI<\/strong>: a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/blog\/experience-ai-launch-lessons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">comprehensive unit of six lessons<\/a> including lesson plans, slide decks, activities, videos, and more to support educators to introduce AI and machine learning to young people<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/blog\/experience-ai-new-updated-lessons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Two standalone lessons<\/a>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Large language models (LLMs)<\/strong>: a lesson designed to help young people discover how large language models work, their benefits, and why their outputs are not always reliable<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ecosystems and AI \u2014 Biology<\/strong>: a lesson providing an opportunity for young people to explore how AI applications are supporting animal conservation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>AI safety<\/strong>:<strong> <\/strong>a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/blog\/helping-young-people-navigate-ai-safely\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">set of resources with a flexible design<\/a> to support educators in a range of settings to equip young people with the knowledge and skills to responsibly and safely navigate the challenges associated with AI<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We also offer a free online course, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/blog\/free-online-course-on-understanding-ai-for-educators\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Understanding AI for educators<\/a>, to help educators prepare to teach about AI.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>International expansion<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The launch of Experience AI came at an important time: AI technologies are playing an ever-growing role in our everyday lives, so it is crucial for young people to gain the understanding and skills they need to critically engage with these technologies. While the resources were initially designed for use by educators in the UK, they immediately attracted interest from educators across the world, as well as individuals wanting to learn about AI. The resources have now been downloaded over 325,000 times by people from over 160 countries. This includes downloads from over 7000 educators worldwide, who will collectively reach an estimated 1.2 million young people.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/www.prime-wow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/138-IMG_5748-Enhanced-NR-500x333-1.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of an educator teaching an Experience AI lesson.\" class=\"wp-image-89556\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.prime-wow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/138-IMG_5748-Enhanced-NR-500x333-1.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/138-IMG_5748-Enhanced-NR-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/138-IMG_5748-Enhanced-NR-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/138-IMG_5748-Enhanced-NR-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/138-IMG_5748-Enhanced-NR-2048x1365.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/138-IMG_5748-Enhanced-NR-800x533.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/138-IMG_5748-Enhanced-NR-450x300.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/138-IMG_5748-Enhanced-NR-900x600.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Thanks to funding from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/blog\/experience-ai-canada-kenya-romania\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google DeepMind<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/blog\/experience-ai-expands-to-reach-over-2-million-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google.org<\/a>, we have also been working with <a href=\"http:\/\/rpf.io\/expai-impactblog2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">partners from across the globe<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/blog\/localising-ai-education-adapting-experience-ai-resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">localise<\/a> and translate the resources for learners and educators in their countries, and provide training to support local educators to deliver the lessons. The educational resources are now available in up to 15 languages, and to date, we have trained over 100 representatives from 20 international partner organisations, who will go on to train local educators. Five of these organisations have begun onward training already, collectively training over 1500 local educators so far.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The impact of Experience AI<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Experience AI resources have been well received by students and educators. Based on responses to our follow-up surveys, in <a href=\"https:\/\/experience-ai.org\/en\/partners\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">countries where we have partners<\/a>:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>95% of educators agreed that the Experience AI sessions have increased their students\u2019 knowledge of AI concepts\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>90% of young people (including young people in formal and non-formal education settings and learning independently) indicated that they better understand what AI and machine learning are<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.prime-wow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/IMG_8920-500x375-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Photo of a young person learning about AI on a laptop.\" class=\"wp-image-89559\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.prime-wow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/IMG_8920-500x375-1.jpeg 500w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/IMG_8920-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/IMG_8920-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/IMG_8920-1536x1152.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/IMG_8920-2048x1536.jpeg 2048w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/IMG_8920-800x600.jpeg 800w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/IMG_8920-450x337.jpeg 450w, https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/app\/uploads\/2025\/02\/IMG_8920-900x675.jpeg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>This is backed up by qualitative feedback from surveys and interviews.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cStudents\u2019 perception and understanding of AI has improved and corrected. Truly I was able to learn a lot about AI and I feel more confident now to teach the kids back at school about this new knowledge.\u201d \u2013 Nur, educator, SMK Bandar Tasek Mutiara, trained by our partner Penang Science Cluster, Malaysia<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cThis was one of the best information sessions I\u2019ve been to! I love the discussion forum and the insightful yet empathetic responses by the course moderators on the discussion board. Honestly, I am really glad I started my AI in education journey with you.\u201d \u2013 Priyanka, head teacher (primary level), United Arab Emirates, online course participant<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What are we learning?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We are committed to continually improving our resources based on feedback from users. A recent review of feedback from educators highlighted key aspects of the resources that educators value most, as well as some challenges educators are facing and possible areas for improvement. For example, educators particularly like the interactive aspects, the clear structure and explanations, and the videos featuring professionals from the AI industry.
