There was an estimated 3.2 percent chance that the large rock would impact the planet eight years from now.<\/p>\n<p>In the days since then, the odds have fallen dramatically. Based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/cneos.jpl.nasa.gov\/sentry\/details.html#?des=2024%20YR4\">latest estimate from NASA<\/a>, there is now just a 0.0039 percent chance.
