Many pixels have been expended on the topic since<br \/>\nacross the net, most recently in <a href=\"https:\/\/lwn.net\/ml\/all\/CANiq72m-R0tOakf=j7BZ78jDHdy=9-fvZbAT8j91Je2Bxy0sFg@mail.gmail.com\">this<br \/>\nsprawling email thread<\/a>.  Linus Torvalds has now <a href=\"https:\/\/lwn.net\/ml\/all\/CAHk-=wgLbz1Bm8QhmJ4dJGSmTuV5w_R0Gwvg5kHrYr4Ko9dUHQ@mail.gmail.com\">made<br \/>\nhis feelings known<\/a> on the topic:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq\"><p>\n\tYou are not forced to take any Rust code, or care about any Rust<br \/>\n\tcode in the DMA code. You can ignore it.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBut &#8220;ignore the Rust side&#8221; automatically also means that you don&#8217;t<br \/>\n\thave any *say* on the Rust side.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tYou can&#8217;t have it both ways.
