Young people register their tech creations to show them in the <a href=\"https:\/\/online.coolestprojects.org\/events\/cp-2023\/gallery\">Coolest Projects online showcase gallery<\/a>. Alongside mentors, parents, friends, and family members in their local and global communities, they can explore the gallery and celebrate what they and their peers have made.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who can take part?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Coolest Projects is open to all tech creators up to age 18<\/li>\n<li>Tech creators of all experience levels are encouraged to participate<\/li>\n<li>Creators can take part individually or in teams of up to five<\/li>\n<li>Creators can live in any place in the world<\/li>\n<li>Participation is free<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/www.prime-wow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/CoolestProjects_03072020-197-copy-500x333-1.jpg\" alt=\"A boy participating in Coolest Projects shows off his tech project together with an adult.\" class=\"wp-image-77903\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What kinds of tech projects can be part of Coolest Projects?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>All projects are welcome, whether they are beginner, advanced, or something in between<\/li>\n<li>Projects can be registered in six categories: Scratch, games, web, mobile apps, hardware, and advanced programming<\/li>\n<li>We love to see works in progress, so projects don\u2019t need to be completed to be registered<\/li>\n<li>Creators can choose a topic for their project, for example community, environment, health, fun, art, education, or identity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/www.prime-wow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/CoolestProjects_03072020-162-500x333-1.jpg\" alt=\"A group of young women present a robot buggy they have built.\" class=\"wp-image-76225\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens after registration?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The online gallery is open for young tech creators to explore to see what their peers all over the world have made<\/li>\n<li>Judges evaluate projects based on their coolness, complexity, design, usability, and presentation, and give feedback to creators about their projects<\/li>\n<li>Judges pick some of their favourite projects to highlight, and every participant gets a unique certificate and some fun digital swag<\/li>\n<li>Participants and the whole global Coolest Projects community celebrates young tech creators\u2019 ingenuity on our livestream on 26 June<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/www.prime-wow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/CoolestProjects_03072020-205-copy-500x333-1.jpg\" alt=\"Four young coders show off their tech project for Coolest Projects.\" class=\"wp-image-78334\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How can young people get started with their projects?<\/h3>\n<p>If your kids want to learn about creating with technology, check out our <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.raspberrypi.org\/en\/paths\">free guided coding project paths<\/a>. These paths are designed to support all young people to learn how to make their own tech projects and develop their coding skills. For example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For young people who are completely new to coding, our <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.raspberrypi.org\/en\/pathways\/scratch-intro\">Introduction to Scratch<\/a> path is a great place to start<\/li>\n<li>If young people would like to create their own website, for example to share information about a cause they care about, they can follow our <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.raspberrypi.org\/en\/pathways\/web-intro\">Intro to web<\/a> path<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.raspberrypi.org\/en\/pathways\/unity-intro\">Introduction to Unity<\/a> path is perfect for more experienced creators who are keen to build interactive 3D worlds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Young creators can take a look at the <a href=\"https:\/\/online.coolestprojects.org\/events\/cp-2023\/gallery\">Coolest Projects 2023 online showcase gallery<\/a> for inspiration if they are not sure what they want to make. You can also watch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/blog\/community-stories-zaahra-eesa-coding-team\/\">the story of Zaahra and Eesa<\/a>, siblings who participated in Coolest Projects 2020.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Coolest Projects in-person events: Ireland and the UK<\/h2>\n<p>If you are a young creator in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, or the UK, then Coolest Projects is also coming to you in person in 2024. Participants will be able to meet other young tech creators, connect to their community, and celebrate each other\u2019s creations. It\u2019s open to young creators in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and their families and friends are invited to come along to celebrate them and see all the incredible projects on show. Participants can apply for partial bursaries for the costs of attending the event.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Coolest Projects UK<\/h3>\n<p>Very soon we will announce the date and venue for Coolest Projects UK for all young creators in the UK. We also work with brilliant partner organisations around the world to bring Coolest Projects events to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/blog\/coolest-projects-in-person-events-2023\/\">their countries and communities<\/a>.
