Verizon may soon offer a discounted bundle of the streaming services&#8217; <a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/netflixs-ad-supported-plan-will-soon-allow-downloads-and-reward-binge-watching-115033226.html\">ad-supported tiers<\/a> for $10 per month. That&#8217;s $7 less than it would cost you to subscribe to them separately. Given that the Max plan costs $10 per month, you&#8217;d effectively be getting Netflix access for free.<\/p>\n<p>The bundle may be announced in the coming weeks. Discovery (WBD) will share revenue with Verizon. It seems that Verizon will offer the bundle to its myPlan customers. Netflix is already available <a data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/verizon-streaming-bundle-offers-netflix-premium-and-paramount-with-showtime-for-26-190627317.html\"><ins>through some Verizon bundles<\/ins><\/a>, but this would be the first time the ad-supported tier would be on offer through one of them.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"end-legacy-contents\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s no secret that most major streaming services are <a data-i13n=\"cpos:6;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/netflix-jacks-price-of-its-premium-plan-up-to-23-a-month-201116571.html\"><ins>getting<\/ins><\/a> <a data-i13n=\"cpos:7;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/hbo-max-price-increase-ad-free-170242563.html\"><ins>more expensive<\/ins><\/a>, especially on the ad-free plans. It&#8217;s also easy for folks to <a data-i13n=\"cpos:8;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2019-09-27-how-to-stream-more-and-spend-less.html\"><ins>cancel a subscription<\/ins><\/a> and switch to another platform for a while. Discounted bundles could help streaming services convince customers to stick around for longer. That&#8217;s key for a number of reasons. For one thing, the more users they have on ad-supported tiers, the easier it will be for them to get advertisers on board.<\/p>\n<p>Netflix has said that its ad supported-plan, <a data-i13n=\"cpos:9;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/netflix-basic-with-ads-explainer-190555318.html\">which debuted a year ago<\/a>, is off to a slower start than expected. It has 15 million monthly active users on that tier, which is accounting for an increasingly large percentage of new signups.
