To help with that problem, Microsoft says it&#8217;s turning to AI tools to help &#8220;accelerate&#8221; its Xbox moderation efforts, letting these systems automatically flag content for human review without needing a player report.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/assets.xboxservices.com\/assets\/68\/35\/6835b960-cb00-4fef-8b9a-c39706f5adfb.pdf?n=239402.pdf\">latest Xbox transparency report<\/a>\u2014the company&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xbox.com\/en-US\/legal\/xbox-transparency-report\">third public look<\/a> at enforcement of its <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/gaming\/2023\/08\/xboxs-new-8-strikes-moderation-judges-cheating-and-profanity-equally-harshly\/\">community standards enforcement<\/a>\u2014is the first to include a section on &#8220;advancing content moderation and platform safety with AI.&#8221; And that report specifically calls out two tools that the company says &#8220;enable us to achieve greater scale, elevate the capabilities of our human moderators, and reduce exposure to sensitive content.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft says many of its Xbox safety systems are now powered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.twohat.com\/community-sift\/\">Community Sift<\/a>, a moderation tool created by Microsoft subsidiary TwoHat. Among the &#8220;billions of human interactions&#8221; the Community Sift system has filtered this year are &#8220;over 36 million&#8221; Xbox player reports in 22 languages, according to the Microsoft report.
