But you get the sense that it&#8217;s a more cavern-like, combat-minded experience. <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<div><a name=\"page-1\" \/><\/div>\n<p>A lot of things can go wrong during a\u00a0<em>Deep Rock Galactic<\/em> mission. <em>Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core<\/em>, a new roguelite spinoff from the makers of the cult co-op shoot-and-mine game, suggests that something has gone even more deeply, terribly wrong on Hoxxes IV. Now you, your friends, and a Processor Drone have to figure out what.<br \/>\n\u200b<br \/>\nAnd you&#8217;ll die\u2014a lot, probably\u2014then try again with new gear and lessons learned, if the title and announcement trailer are anything to go by.<\/p>\n<p \/>\n<div class=\"video\">\n<div class=\"wrapper\" \/>\n<p class=\"caption\" style=\"font-size:0.8em\">Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core announcement trailer. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\n\u200b<br \/>\nYou can wishlist\u00a0<em>Rogue Core<\/em> on Steam now, and the game will launch in Early Access, which is anticipated to last for 18\u201324 months, in November 2024. Closed alpha tests will be announced on the game\u2019s Steam page and <a href=\"https:\/\/discord.com\/invite\/drg\">fan Discord<\/a>.\u00a0<em>Deep Rock<\/em>\u2019s developer, Ghost Ship Games, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mynewsdesk.com\/uk\/swipe-right\/pressreleases\/ghost-ship-games-reveals-new-game-deep-rock-galactic-rogue-core-launching-in-november-2024-3277968\">promises<\/a> \u201cupdates on the game\u2019s direction right from the very earliest stage of development\u201d and will be \u201cadding new features to the game based on feedback and observations of how our community is playing it. Each feature will be tweaked, balanced, and polished as it is added.\u201d<br \/>\n\u200b<br \/>\nMikkel Martin Pedersen, co-founder and game director at Ghost Ship Games, said in a press release that the company intends to keep fans in the loop, as \u201cour process of open development helped <em>Deep Rock Galactic<\/em> be the game it has become.\u201d The developer also emphasized that support for the original game will continue.<br \/>\n\u200b<br \/>\nThe game\u2019s teaser trailer provides only a minimum of context for the plot. It\u2019s heavy on the Ridley Scott\u00a0<em>Alien<\/em> touches, right down to a Lego brick of a ship coasting toward a planet where the corporation has lost contact with workers who were mining near the planet\u2019s core. Your \u201cReclaimers\u201d team has to reestablish the dig. [credit:<br \/>\n                              Ghost Ship Games                            ]\n                      <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u200b<br \/>\nThen again, the plot of\u00a0<em>Deep Rock Galactic<\/em>\u00a0itself, while certainly peppered with lore, is essentially \u201cWe need these minerals, these bugs are in the way, sorry if they kill you.\u201d\u00a0<em>Rogue Core<\/em> will have the same fully destructible environments, procedurally generated levels, co-op interplay, and greedy corporations, but with a focus on getting farther into a run each time.<br \/>\n\u200b<br \/>\nYour means of success is through customizing and upgrading your weapons and Phase Suit, using salvaged gear and Expenite, \u201ca new wonder-mineral.\u201d You complete tasks, find stuff, go deeper, and get stronger, until you inevitably fail and start again. Given the roguelite framing, you can expect some upgrades to stick with you from session to session.
