Alexei Starovoitov, who<br \/>\nwas the creator of eBPF and did much of the development of it, especially<br \/>\nin the early going, gave the opening talk at<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/events.linuxfoundation.org\/linux-security-summit-europe\/\">Linux<br \/>\nSecurity Summit Europe<\/a>\u00a02023 on the relationship between BPF and<br \/>\nsecurity.  In it, he related some interesting history, from a somewhat<br \/>\ndifferent perspective than what is often described, he said.
