Long-time Slashdot reader Tablizer writes: Chrome’s spell checker doesn’t list the proper option for “devine” or “preditor”. Soundex would match them and is relatively simple to implement, but most browsers allegedly use the Hunspell algorithm. However, Hunspell doesn’t handle incorrect vowels well.<\/p>\n

Browsers could offer a “More spelling options” menu item to bring up a wider dialog using alternative algorithms, such as Soundex. Until then, can anyone recommend good spelling plugins?<\/p>\n
