As of today we\u2019re removing the option to create Moments for users as we focus on improving other experiences,\u201d the Twitter Support <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TwitterSupport\/status\/1600567232764985348?s=20&amp;t=cpOO7pWw-sBbCUZu_O3H1w\"><ins>account posted<\/ins><\/a>, adding previously made Moments would still have a home on the website.<\/p>\n<div id=\"eff3488d20024d938ecb147177f045cb\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Not all moments last. Even before Elon Musk bought the company, Twitter had begun to move away from the feature. In 2018, the company removed the ability to create Moments within its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2018-10-10-twitter-moments-on-mobile.html\"><ins>Android and iOS apps<\/ins><\/a>. \u201cWhen features aren\u2019t used as often, we\u2019ll remove them, so we can focus on building other products you\u2019ll love,\u201d Twitter <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TwitterSupport\/status\/1049765751240839168\"><ins>noted at the time<\/ins><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"end-legacy-contents\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/elon-musk-takes-over-twitter-011047797.html\"><ins>Musk\u2019s takeover<\/ins><\/a>, it\u2019s likely Moments was identified as a feature that didn\u2019t mesh with his vision for the platform. The billionaire has repeatedly said he aims to simplify Twitter while simultaneously transforming it into a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/elon-musk-orders-vine-reboot-203652582.html\"><ins>super app<\/ins><\/a>.\u201d The website\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/elonmusk\/status\/1592178009410531330?s=20&amp;t=Saa2CpzIFEiCPdZ4Ayj-ng\"><ins>tweeted from<\/ins><\/a>\u201d labels were an early victim of the former inclination.
